Why is it so difficult to find holsters?

Here’s a cleaner, more organized version that keeps your conversational tone while making the progression easier to follow.

I’ll admit it: I’m pretty picky when it comes to holsters. After years of carrying, I’ve figured out what works for me, and I’m not interested in compromising on comfort.

Back in 2008, before pistol-mounted lights and red dot optics became my standard, I bought a CrossBreed SuperTuck Deluxe in horsehide. It was, without question, the most comfortable holster I’ve ever owned. I carried it daily for 13 years, and I still have it today. Honestly, I’d probably still be using it if my carry setup hadn’t evolved.

These days I carry a Glock 47 with a Streamlight TLR-1 HL and a Holosun SCS. Despite trying numerous holsters, I still haven’t found anything that matches the comfort of the SuperTuck while accommodating both the weapon light and the optic.

The biggest issue seems to be compatibility. Most manufacturers offer one of the following:

  • Glock 47 + light
  • Glock 47 + optic
  • Glock 19/45 + light + optic

…but almost nobody seems to support the Glock 47 with both a TLR-1 HL and an optic.

I’ve also tried standard all-Kydex IWB holsters, but I’ve found that designs with a single belt clip mounted directly over the gun tend to dig into my hip. Hybrid holsters, where the clips are positioned on either side of the firearm, have always distributed the pressure much more comfortably for me.

So, knowing the internet will prove me wrong if I’m mistaken…

Does anyone actually make a hybrid holster with:

  • Leather or other flexible backing (CrossBreed SuperTuck, T.REX Ironside Hybrid, Alien Gear Cloak Tuck, etc.)
  • Glock full-size frame (17/22/31/47)
  • Streamlight TLR-1 HL
  • Holosun SCS (or at least optic-compatible)

Because as far as I can tell, nobody is making exactly what I’m looking for.
