Potential Fix: “Ghost Touches” or "No Touch" on Replacement OLED Screens | PS Vita 1000
I may have found a possible workaround for the ghost touch / no-touch issue on some replacement OLED screen assemblies for the PS Vita 1000.
The issue:
Some aftermarket replacement screens can show phantom touches, random ghost inputs, become unresponsive, or freeze after waking from sleep while the system is charging.
What I found:
In my testing, the issue seems to go away if I disconnect one of the two Wi-Fi antennas from the rear housing.
Current theory:
The aftermarket touchscreen controller seems to be unusually sensitive to EMI/interference when both wifi antennas are connected, and the system is plugged in and charging. With only one antenna connected (doesn't matter if you remove the left or right), the ghosting appears to stop.
Important notes:
- This is only based on my own testing so far.
- I have not noticed any major wifi signal loss with one antenna disconnected, but more testing is needed.
- This may not fix every replacement screen with touch issues.
If anyone else has one of these newer replacement Vita 1000 OLEDs, I’d be interested to know if you see the same behavior.
