SWR silently replaced the brand-new LHB coaches of 16511/16512 with older ones within a year. Why?

I'm a regular passenger on 16511/16512 KSR Bengaluru – Kannur Express, and something doesn't add up.

In March 2025, Southern Railway officially announced that 16511/16512 would be upgraded to brand-new LHB coaches from May 2025. The train started running with new ICF-built LHB coaches, and passengers appreciated the smoother ride and modern interiors. When I travelled last year, the coaches had the fresh paint smell and felt like a new car.

Fast forward to now, and I noticed something surprising.

The coach I traveled in has the manufacturing plate showing:

Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai

Coach No.: LWSCN-2884

Built: July 2020

So instead of the newer coaches introduced last year, the train is now running with older LHB coaches manufactured in 2020.

This raises a few questions:

Why were the newer coaches removed after barely a year?

Were they transferred to another premium train?

Is this due to maintenance, coach balancing, or some operational decision?

If passengers were promised upgraded coaches, why quietly downgrade them?

I'm not saying the 2020 LHB coaches are unsafe—they're still LHB and much better than old ICF coaches. But replacing new coaches with older ones without any explanation seems odd.

Has anyone else noticed this on 16511/16512 or other SWR trains?

What is this part called and where can I buy it in Bangalore: Vstrom

So yes Vstrom has a very hard clutch and if I am doing a multi day ride my hand literally gets tired because of the hard clutch. But this seems to make a difference, ( the physics works out by the looks). Anyone know where can I buy this in Bangalore/online? And what is it called.

Chatgpt told me it's clutch release arm but can't find anything wrt to that. Super clutch spindle also no luck

The page is non responsive so trying here if anyone knows about it!

'Big bazar' legacy continues, even years after they have been closed

Yes the entire mall is called a big bazaar by some of my relatives even after almost 5 years since they closed.

Big bazar must be mangalore's oldest largest shopping mart

At that time ..

I wish I used this feature in my AC more frequently before!

So yes we all may have Ac's at home and we barely even use the 7-15 other buttons on the remote other than turning it on and off.

Lately while scrolling I found out that All Ac's have dry mode. This mode is used to control the humidity in the room. And yes this saves a lot of power as well!

And to my surprise it works pretty well!

Just change the mode to dry mode and (it won't allow you change the temperature and fan speed which sud be ok)

the room is chilled! Best part 40-60% less power usage.

If your AC normally consumes:

1 unit/hour in Cool mode

Dry mode may consume around:

0.4–0.7 units/hour

Win win kinda situation.

So ya, thought to post it here since the heat in Mangalore is the humidity kinda heat.
