Working in a speciality I HATE

I hate feet. I’ve always hated feet in every form. I can tolerate animal feet or baby feet (to an extent). They gross me out, even clean feet. Due to staffing issues, I’ve been pulled away from my regular clinic and had to work with an orthopedic surgeon who does ankles and feet. The clinic is insanely busy, always add ons and walk ins, lots of wound care and very complex patients. The only good thing is the doctor is chill. I’ve never hated working like this. And I feel bad but I dislike a lot of the patients because of how hard they make it. Constantly calling and messaging and showing up without an appointment. And since no one wants to work in this clinic they haven’t been able to find anyone permanent. I’m PRN too so I don’t get any benefits, but I’m still working 40+ hour work weeks now. Maybe I’m just venting but oh my god this shit sucks so bad

Why was the toilet water at my testing center HOT

MCAT opened the door to hell confirmed. The water was orange and bubbly and was so fucking HOT I could feel it radiating. The flush knob was also scalding.

Also I have to hand it to the people showing up to a 7 hour test with nothing but a Powerade. I fully believe those are the 528 legends

My LEAST favorite conversation to have with patients

I work at an outpatient specialty clinic and so there’s plenty of post op patients or patients seen in the ER, which means lots of requested narcotic refills. The majority of them are denied by my providers. Every time I call someone to tell them they say “what am I supposed to do? Just be in pain? How could you do this to me?” And I’m like idk I’m not the gatekeeper of Percocet. Everyone has a different pain tolerance but there’s an expectation if you just had surgery or an injury it’s going to hurt for a while, yeah?

Open pec minor release 2 and a half week post op

I’m 95% symptom free. The pain, circulation issues, and tingling is almost completely gone. I will occasionally feel a tiny bit of soreness but my arm used to throb all day if I used it too much. The incision looks great because my surgeon did his residency in plastics. I know not everyone here has gotten relief from a pec minor release alone but it is possible. Best decision I’ve made

Only difference from 2025 to 2026 was stopping my birth control

I would never tell anyone to stop birth control without consulting their doctor. It’s given women an incredible amount of autonomy and many people never have issues with it. But for me, it was causing my cholesterol to spike and my gastroparesis to flare up at the same time. I stopped taking it in July of 2025 and just had bloodwork redone (non fasting so triglycerides aren’t reliable) . I have made zero diet changes between 2025 and 2026. If anything I’m probably eating worse. I haven’t lost weight but do like to go one long walks. My GP symptoms have been reduced significantly and my cholesterol is finally coming down with no other changes

Open pec minor release 10 days post op

10 days today! The first few days I was still sore so I couldn’t tell what was from the surgery vs my symptoms but I’m pretty confident now that my forearm and hand symptoms from my pec minor syndrome are gone. The feeling of losing circulation is also almost diminished. My surgery was done by a hand surgeon who did a nerve fellowship and my recovery has been pretty easy, I went back to work 6 days after surgery. I wouldn’t be surprised if I develop right sided pec minor syndrome but after this I would definitely have it done again

Loved the new Gucci sample in the GWP and then immediately destroyed it:)

Perfume samples are my favorite and I was so excited to use this one. It’s completely my fault but I had surgery yesterday and my reflexes are slow and after smelling it I immediately dropped it and it shattered into 20 pieces. It couldn’t have been one of my 1000 My Way or Prada samples??? 😭😭

I have my pec minor release surgery scheduled in a week and am wondering if anyone has gotten a tattoo afterwards near their incision. Obviously it’ll be a while if I get one, but I’m wondering if that area is more tender or if y’all have tattoo designs in mind.
