I (18M) Am Incresibly Insecure About My Relationship (17F). What Can I do About It?
Me and my girlfriend have been (officially) dating for 8 months now, and it's my, but not her, first relationship like this. For a long time, I thought I wasn't a jealous person at all, but recently I've come to the realization I can get jealous, or at least insecure, about so many things. From her not spending too much time with me at a random party to her talking in a clearly friendly and chill manner to some ex feels like a personal attack towards me, and I've realised this could eventually kill my relationship aswell as destroy my self confidence. Just moments ago, I told her that I felt she sometimes liked to maje me jealous on purpose (which wasn't true at all) and this lead to a really small, none the less, argument.
I think one big problem is that she is too proud, so any time I comment on attitudes I don't like, justified or not, seh straight up gets into deffensive mode and ends up trying to making me feel guilty. But I feel like we'd never have to deal with arguments of these sorts if I didn't spend so much time feeling insecure about her love towards me.
I also find myself being the complete opposite, so any time I feel I've done the smallest mistake I automatically ask for forgiveness to the point of exauhstion, and I believe this contrast in "accoubtability" (for a lack of a better word) has worsened my insecurities.
My point is that with each passing day, I feel more paranoid and ancious about our relationship due to my own exagerated insecurities, and I need to solve this fast, before I make a mistake.
Does anyone have any suggestions to what I could do to work this out? I'm really desparate.
I am sorry if my english isn't that good, it's late where I'm from and I'm tired and pretty stressed.
Thanks.
