As a solo traveler I know a good hostel can make a vacation truly special. Usually cities I go to have one standout hostel but Tokyo is huge! So I’m a bit overwhelmed by the amount of options.

Area doesn’t particularly matter to me, if Its a good hostel I wont mind where the location is.

What are the best social hostels?

I was thinking either Nui, Unplanned (in shinjuku), Bedgasm, or Wise Owl. Has anyone stayed in these? Are there any great hostels that I didn’t list?

Because of the frustration with waiting for TWoW I’ve seen this fanbase and the media constantly calling GRRM lazy. This take does not hold up under scrutiny.

George has done plenty since ADwD, Fire and Blood, Dunk and Egg, editing Wild Cards, writing a stage play, producing the TV shows Etc. The man works!

The answer here is far more tragic than being lazy. GRRM has standards and he clearly has not met them. He’s stated that he’s re-written chapters multiple times.

And think about what he’s actually trying to pull off. Winds has to be the convergence book. Dany has to leave Meereen, Jon’s resurrection., Aegon has to land, The Others finally have to move, Cersei’s trial, Stannis in the snow, Arya in Bravos, the Greyjoy succession, Dorne, the Faith Militant. A dozen plot lines that have been spreading outward for two books now have to start crashing back together in a way that feels earned! This is a HUGE book and honestly it should probably be 2. He has to take these sprawling plot-lines and set it up for A Dream of Spring. It’s a structural problem not a motivational one. He clearly hasn’t found anything that is satisfying.

Additionally It’s a cruel Irony that the success of ASOIAF may be part of what’s blocking him. That kind of pressure is a ton to deal with and makes this monumental task even harder.

So when fans say “just release something” they’re missing the point. He cannot release something he thinks is bad. I personally don’t want this book if GRRM isn’t satisfied.

Unfortunately he may never find something he likes, and thats far more tragic than him just being lazy.

I’m hopeful he finds a TWoW he can be happy with. And I hope ADoS is far easier to write than Winds.
