RSU Liquidity

Hey All,

I’m new to the world of RSUs being apart of compensation. I’ve done some research and it seems that the RSUs aren’t liquid until IPO. Is that true? Is everyone just holding on until IPO / period after IPO where you can sell?

Also, for the unlimited PTO, how legit is that? How much PTO are people actually taking? Around 3 weeks?

Which Mfg Eng Job to Take

Hi All,

I’m currently in the interview process with a few companies for different manufacturing positions. I have about 2.5 years of experience at a defense prime as a Manufacturing / Process Engineer. I’m looking to work for one of these companies to learn, grow, and get exposure to things I’m not currently getting. At a defense prime things move slow and there’s a lot of legacy hardware, I wanna work somewhere with high ownership and cutting edge tech. Anyways, here are the companies I’m interviewing with and positions:

  1. SpaceX - Supplier Development Engineer for PCB/PCBA, at the onsite interview stage
  2. Anduril - Manufacturing Engineer for Drones, at onsite interview stage
  3. True Anomaly - Manufacturing Engineer, at hiring manager stage
  4. Millennium Space Systems - Manufacturing Engineer for ATLO, at hiring manager stage

From an outside perspective in, which company would you go with and why? Obviously I don’t expect to get every offer but as of now I’m sort of leaning towards Anduril. It seems like great pay, equity, and better WLB than SpaceX. Any advice helps!

Hey All,

I wanted to come on here to ask people’s personal experience with the Kakwa 55. I currently have a ULA circuit and got it primarily due to popularity and the fact that it’s a trusted pack. However, there are some things I don’t like about it.

My base weight is about 13.5 lbs so not ultralight but still lightweight. Recently I was on a trip with a heavy food + water carry and was definitely in the upper range of 35 lbs or so. At this weight the circuit was very uncomfortable. I felt the hip belt kept slipping regardless of that I kept tightening it. Due to this I felt weight being put on my shoulders and actually got some collarbone pain which is odd (maybe due to the fact I have the S-straps) but makes sense since I fractured my collarbone years ago.

I’m looking to switch to a pack that’s more comfortable at a heavy carry. I know I won’t be carrying at this weight all the time but wanted to see if the Kakwa is a better option. Anyone’s input helps!

Hey All,

I’m a manufacturing engineer with about 3 years of experience at a prime. I applied to Anduril because I love the way the company is running from an outside perspective. It seems like efficiency and getting things done fast are a priority.

I’m really interested in working at a place where I can learn a lot and work on interesting projects. Since I’m early career WLB isn’t as important to me right now. Can anyone share what the Manufacturing atmosphere is like at Costa Mesa or Santa Ana? I’m interviewing for a position but just wanted an idea of the interview process, realistic working hours / pressure, and overall how the job is. I love to work hard but would like time to reset. How much responsibility would I get as an early career ME?

I’m also on the last stage of interviews with SpaceX and considering that as well. I know it’s unlikely I’ll come out with both offers but curious as to people’s advice on which would be better for career growth.

Any info helps!
