Are the new machines at Canadian Blood Services counting the entire time in the chair?

Pic 1 is from a news story but it shows what the new machines look like.

Pic 2 is my bleed time. The 10 mins could be an outlier but I’ve never gone over 7 mins in all of my 50+ donations of whole blood.

I just lurk here for the great photos, but wanted to share the ones I saw in the Galapagos

You have to keep at least 6 ft away from the wildlife but many of the animals, including birds, were chill enough to get some decent pics with a cellphone.

We saw lots of mangrove yellow warblers, blue footed boobies (and young ones), finches, pelicans, flamingos, mockingjays, lava herons, magnificent frigate birds, great blue herons, Hudsonian whimbrels, plovers, and more. My favourite was a lone penguin, the second smallest in the world, frolicking in the water.

I’m not sure what the last guy is. We were farther away and I had to zoom in on the pic once I took it. Edit: it’s a dark-billed cuckoo (thank you, u/cannibalrabies)

I got this bag around the late 2000s (it’s the Phoebe by Rachel Nasvik) and one side of the strap has an orange discolouration. It doesn’t come off with a jewellery cloth. Is this a patina? The other side (pic 5) doesn’t have it. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from worsening? I believe the hardware material is solid brass.
