Just watched MP’s video on the Dixon news to McLaren and it made me realize 1 forgotten part. 2027 testing for 2028 cars
I hate McLarens moves over the Kanaan tenure. I hate that Lundgaard is leaving to be replaced by a former driver of theirs that they didn’t even want and a 46 yr old. I hate all of the bad decisions that led to that (Mainly hiring Siegel instead of a seasoned vet to help with grounding the setup)
But it is obvious Pato can’t find good setups by himself. And with a new car coming they need to get in front of it next year during testing. Which is brilliant to bring in Dixie, but why Felix as well? I guess we will see how well it pays off. But I for one am moving all of my allegiance to Lundgaard/Herta. Im tired of being slapped in the face by McLaren for watching more than just the 500
What if McLaren essentially runs their 4th with Juncos/Chevy Factory Team? That would open up Lundgaard staying with Felix and Dixon coming over.
This might make more sense, since we haven’t heard confirmation that Lundgaard is actually leaving yet or that Felix will be driving for McLaren yet. I don’t know what is going on but this whole thing is just interesting. Personally wish their was a driver transfer window after the season so all of their drama can be going on after the season so their is something to talk about when there isn’t actually racing happening.
In the last few years, McLaren have fumbled the current 1st, 2nd and 4th place drivers on the grid. Let alone a promising F2 champion and a steady driver in Ilott.
All for drivers that is about to retire that they hope will bring Ganassi miracle setups (isnt that the reason they got Felix in 21? and ask how that worked for Andretti with Marcus), for a pay driver that cant even stay consistently in the top 20, and for a former driver that finished at worst 21st, and at best 8th with the team.
Everyone keeps saying Lundgaard wasnt great at ovals, but this year was clearly his best with a 13th avg finish (which is not that far off Dixon this year) and he has shown improvements. He is 24 and had to struggle with RLL oval setups for years. Makes no sense they didnt try to sign him up in the off season long term. It was obvious he was going to break out this year. Most of these decisions came with Kanaan in charge as well.
The kicker is that a new car is coming in 28, so they are only getting Ganassi info for 1 year before the reset. Ganassi will have the best lineup by far next year, the silver lining is Lundgaard might make a nice battle with Palou.
McLaren would consider becoming F1 power unit manufacturer with proper V8 formula

The Pit Reporters is essentially are just another ad break at this point
This championship is shaping up quite well. Is Lundgaard fighting to be the new face of Papaya?
Anyone know the official attendance of the Indy GP? It seemed packed
Every year this race seems to get more and more people. I go to the Portland GP, which is on the short list to be replaced but even that gets more people every year. It’s a good time to be an indycar fan
Will Pietro Fittipaldi be the last driver to start in NASCAR make it to F1?
reddit.comAnyone know how to replace this as I believe the seal is old and dripping as my water keeps turning on for a few seconds?
I can’t seem to get the system off the seal. I don’t think it twists off and i need to replace it
