Was it a mistake getting a g535 over a g729 or g760?

I got caught up in the moment and the guy selling me convinced me on the 535 but after more looking idk if I made the right choice. It’s already hooked up and I live a two hour round trip drive away. Idk if I should go back and swap though. Bleh. Lot of money to make a mistake with.

Can my red pentas be saved?

They were doing ok until the last few days.

I’m pruning the wilted and yellowing leaves and the dead flowers.

The roots are tan with white tips so seem healthy.

I’ve kept it inside in a window that gets a lot of sunlight.

I don’t water on a set schedule just whenever the soil seems dry on the top inch or two.

I bought a 5-5-5 fertilizer since I’ve never fed it before.

I’ve only had it since Mother’s Day.

I repotted it as it is in the picture after taking it out to check the roots.

Where should I go from here?

Does this look like a fossil?

Google says it’s an ammomite. I saw it in my yard months ago and thought nothing of it until a coworker found one and said he thinks it’s a fossil. I guess I assumed it was something man made. So did I find a fossil? North Texas if that matters.

Advice for first dragon fruit?

  1. I’m in the dfw area of north Texas.
  2. I don’t measure the amount of water I use.
  3. I run a lot of water through it under the bathroom sink.

I add easy peasy succulent plant food to the watering once a month roughly.

I water twice a month in summer and spring roughly then once a month in winter and fall.

  1. I have my dragon fruit in a south facing window sill that gets sunlight most of the day.

  2. I’m using pro mix premium moisture potting and google says the npk ratio is 0.3 0.12 0.12.

  3. The soil ingredients are: sphagnum peat moss 80%-90% by volume. Coir. Perlite. Ground limestone. Wetting agent. Mycorrhizae.

Why does it look a bit browned and crusty? Underwatered?

Should I get a bigger pot?

What should I use as a support structure and where should I get it?
