With the success of the WNBA and many other leagues that followed it. Do you guys think that womens esports would grow and finally become mainstream?
After reading the doping and mt rushmore post. It got me wondering if people often talk about the elite 4 of esports? What about the other end of the spectrum? Which 4 notorious figures in esport history are the worst of them all. Here are my picks and they're not really surprising at all.
- Foresaken
- Saviour
- Ibuypower 2014 squad (Their ban has been lifted but it should have been perma)
- Billy Mitchell
Me and my friends have been discussing about this topic lately and we were shocked to find out that there are some countries that doesn't even have a rep yet and some being questionable choices. So we are just wondering what country do you want to see have a rep and which ones shouldn't?
For the countries that we wanted to see have a rep it's a long ass list but the ones on the top is def Nepal or NZ. We really want to see a gurkha and maori fighter. Like c'mon the kukri is one of the most recognizable knives in history and who doesn't like laser kiwi's?
Now the country that we believe shouldn't even have any rep at all is def our neighbor up north and we didn't even have to debate about it. Canada in our opinion shouldn't even have any fighting game reps at all. Like really you know it's bad when most of the characters that reps the country are mostly from other ips, retconned or recycled and they barely FGC scene there it's mostly mainstream esports (Source I visited there before and participated in Canada cup btw worst tourney that I ever played in my career so far). Also culturally they are literally the same as us nothing distinctive.
We often see people say esports is not a "sport" but one of the counter arguments that we always use to justify why esports is a sport is how similar it is to traditional sports mainly with gameplay and culture. Like for me I always see basketball and cs similar. Here are my reasons.
- You have to know your footing and position before you take a shot
- Going for a headshot is like going for a 3
- Going for a knife or zeus kill is like going for a dunk
- Rushing a position is like driving the bucket or doing a layup
- C4 is like a shot clock
- Collecting skins and flexing them is like sneaker collecting
- Most cs markets are in basketball dominated markets too
- Similar controversies mainly cheating, gambling and match fixing just like what happened to ibuypower in 2014 and Terry Rozier recently
So which esports do you guys think share similar gameplay and culture with a traditional sport?
For me this is always her mom but I do see people question who she really is. So for those who say it's not her mom who do you think she really is?
