For those who pivoted from GIS to another field, what is it and why?

I’m curious—if you’ve pivoted from GIS into another field, what made you decide to do it, and how did you actually make the transition?

For example, did you take on any internships, volunteering opportunities, courses, projects, or other experiences that helped you get into the new field? And how did you deal with the “you need previous experience in this field” requirement when applying for your first opportunities outside GIS?

PS: some more questions here;

What made you leave GIS?

Are you satisfied/happy about the decision?

How to NOT think in English ?

English is my second language and i've been studying it for a loong time. now my problem is that i think in English in a way i don't in my native language... in other words, i don't feel the words in English, the same way i feel in Sinhala.

for example, in my native language, i never think/say anything that give the idea of "i'm not good enough". But in English, this phrase comes quickly to my brain. I noticed this when i was reading an English book on how thinking a certain way affects our reality.

so by thinking in English, i am quick to be negative and judgy. But in my real life when i deal with Sinhala, i am very careful of what i think and say. this is like each language awakens a different personality of me. i don't want that ;(

does anyone have any idea of what's going on or any suggestion/solution on this?

Do you know any social clubs/societies in Kandy?

Hello! does anyone know clubs (except social service clubs - Leo, Rota, etc.) that people join together to do hobbies like running, book clubs, crochet or poetry clubs etc, around Kandy?

Can i go for master's abroad with a schol right after bachelors without work experience?

i am interested in pursuing master's abroad right after my bachelors, but i can't without a scholarship. I am pending results and currently at a good academic position (3.84 out of 4 GPA). i did a GIS degree with a one month intern as required. I had held multiple leadership positions that can be counted as extra-curricular, but apart from that i haven't done exceptional things like going abroad for volunteering etc. is it realistic for me to receive an offer for master's with a schol? any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
