Try as I might to convince myself a breathable tank top undershirt won’t make me overheat….or that comforting NOT comfortable is the most prudent choice…I ALWAYS GIVE IN to my pocket J Frame! No more wiping off sweaty ass gun grips and trying to pretend the 103 degree temps in Dallas aren’t much of a big deal….NOPE. Back to keeping things simple until maybe October 😃🍺🔥🔥🔥

Looking to maybe purchase one for the light weight but since I have a few JFrames I may just buy a titanium cylinder from Midway and lighten one that way.…of course doing that I would stick to .38 special loadings. The softest .357 magnum that I have stocked in my inventory is the Speer short barrel 357 load. Have any of you shot that thru your 340’s and is the recoil manageable? I wouldn’t dare run anything hotter and since you are limited to 120 grain loads then running the Winchester 110 grain in 357 wouldn’t work either.
So, just trying to see how feasible 357 would be vs just sticking to .38. Looking for honest input from 340 owners only please 🙌🏽👏🏽🙏🏽
Each has its pros and cons. Some have been dead nuts reliable. Others have been plagued with issues that I just leave them outta sight and mind until I can send them in for repair. But thru it all, I find The Snub Life more enjoyable than carrying my semis. Now the conundrum….which to wield for WGW 🧐🤓
Felt like rocking my 3 inch polished SDR today. I always forget how easy this feels IWB with my Azula holster. I know it sounds counter intuitive but even though it’s heavy and has a longer barrel, it conceals better than some of my semi’s and even lightweight J Frames. Maybe the longer barrel balances it out more? Anyway, my load out for today is:

Purchased this brand new from Academy 2 weeks ago. Took it home, field stripped and removed all the factory grease it came packed with. Cleaned and lubed and left in the safe. I loaded the factory 15 and 10 round mags and let them sit so the mag springs could break in a little. Took it out today for my usual 200 round break in. I only exclusively shoot Federal American Eagle in 115/124 and 147 grain. The first 100 rounds were FLAWLESS. the gun shot true to the sights. I had high hopes since I also have a couple Ruger Security 380's which have been amazing! Anyway, After about 100 rounds I got a couple failure to fires. I assumed it was the ammo. Then I loaded up a different mag with 147 grain rather than the 115 and when I pulled the trigger I got nothin...dead trigger. You can see the inner blade on the trigger is sitting flush with the outer part of the trigger. I will call Ruger to get it fixed but for now I am going back to revolvers.
