Can a seller change the product description/page ?

I have long suspected this happens ( to the point where I take screenshots if I have a suspicion or doubt - particularly if the product claims to have some compatibility or capability that might not be as described).

But in this case I've been communicating with product support about a Vine product that has been malfunctioning (an automatic roller shade device) - and after many months they are claiming that their device was not made for roller shades the size I am using.

Now after >6 months I see prominently on the product page (product title) that this is true - when I don't ever remember seeing it before.

Just for my own sanity - is it possible they added this to the product title many weeks or months later?

>> conclusion: this is a sleazy loophole that can cause a lot of problems and abuse.

After 4-5 years on Vine, I think this is a first for me. I ordered and tested a product (a car diagnostics device) that did not do what it claimed - however I thought there might be an issue with the documentation or something. I went through Amazon support (who - unusually - did not allow me to ask the seller a product question - but instead an Amazon rep attempted to help via chat, to no avail).

Then I searched and found the customer support email for the product/company. Nothing. After a week I left a tepid 3 star review (it performed some functions).

Then just now (a week later), I get a creepy voice mail message from the seller that I almost directed to spam. - He alluded to our prior communications and more.

Well, it turns out that he DID reply to my customer support email with clarifications (and an updated manual) and specific instructions to get the functionality I wanted, It's just that he emails went to spam, and I had to recover them.

SO - I am now trying to update the review - but I cannot. The review (submitted on 4/22 posted on 4/28) - Edit Review is no longer available only See Review). I feel kind of bad - because the product review should be updated and they should get at least 4 stars (I'm not done testing but the customer service response was very good).

Advice, suggestions?
