Gradual increase alarm volume?

Is there any way to make the alarm gradually increase in volume? It seems like a pretty common setting, but I can't figure it out. If not, I put in a big ol' vote to add that to the next update cause it's tough sharing a bed with alarms going off at full volume.

New Era Lite - English settings?

Just opened my new Era Lite and there are small parts in the menu that aren't in English. Like under the music player, it says "Mediateka" instead of Media Library. It also says "Onleihe" under one of the icons in the general apps section. Is there any way to fix this?

Broker vs company

Portland Or, USA - Dublin, Ireland in December 2026.

I've found a FMCSA-registered shipping company that I like, though they work with a local moving company to do all of the actual move. This local company is not FMSCA registered. What's the reason for not booking directly with the local company? I don't understand the benefit of the Broker, besides the FMSCA part. But at the same time, all of the FMCSA-registered companies seem to use a local company for the actual move.

Questions for shipping companies

We're narrowing down our move and I'm trying to compare quotes right now. Would people mind posting some questions I should be asking these companies? I'm looking at a few that are registered with FMCSA, so I'm hoping they're legitimate. It's just one of those situations where I don't know which questions to ask. For example, one company has a 2-hour limit on moving my items from the truck into the shipping container - the other company didn't mention any time limit, so I will ask. I'm looking for little things like this to triple-check in the comparisons. Thank you!

UK to Irish Citizenship

I plan on settling in Ireland, and I know that I have to live there for five years before applying for citizenship. But since I don't need an IRP as a UK citizen, how do they "count" the start of my five years? Do I just keep proof of residency and employment? Is it from the first date of my PPS number? Or is there a more formal registration process I should go through to start the clock?

Capital gains before moving to Ireland

Another quickie - please let me know if there's a better place to post these...

Say that in 2027, I sell my apartment in Turkey (dealing with all the taxes there), and put that money into my savings. When I move to Ireland later in 2027, and establish tax residency there, am I expected to pay capital gains tax on the sale that happened before I moved? I would be bringing the money from the sale into Ireland to buy an apartment there. But it would be coming in as savings if that makes sense. And just to add, the taxes in Turkey wouldn't offset the potential Irish ones.

It doesn't read like I should have to pay taxes on a sale that happened before I moved to Ireland, but I can't find anything from the government that directly speaks to this situation. It's becoming a tax resident later in the year that is making me nervous.

Tax residency and permanent residency questions

Quick question that I hope makes sense. I'm joining my spouse through the family reunification program next year. I will be out of the county for more than 183 days, so not a tax resident in 2027. But I will also have my permanent residency later in 2027. Those two things just seem to conflict in my mind.

Can I have permanent residency and not be a tax resident in the same year?

Shipping Container Companies

I know there are a lot of big feels out there about shipping all of one's stuff, but I've made these cross-Atlantic moves many times in my life and am set on not having to start from scratch this time.

We're looking at a shipment from Oregon to Dublin in December of 2026. I don't care about how long it takes (happy to wait 6 months if needed), but I want a safe and secure trip. I reached out to International Van Lines and Schumacher Cargo, though after I hit send, I got an email from the scam company "United States Moving Protection Organization." So now I'm already creeped out because one of these supposedly legitimate companies seems to have leaked my moving plans to a scam company, but I digress.

International Van Lines quoted me nearly $13,000 USD for a 20ft shipping container. I knew this wouldn't be cheap, but that's way above our budget. Is this a realistic quote? And if so, are there any cheaper companies out there that aren't a total scam?

Calls going silent

I've had my Kompakt for about a week, and I love it. But if I'm on the phone for more than a minute and a half-ish, the sound cuts out. The call is still going, but neither side can hear the other. If I hang up and call back, it works fine (until it cuts out again). The same thing happens with the Auxio app I sideloaded. Any idea how to fix this? The phone is all updated, and the only sideloaded apps I have are Auxio, Signal, and Uber.
