Revered Brother Ulysses
Revered Brother Ulysses, entombed in a Brutalis chassis Dreadnought. Once a brilliant tactician and one of the best melee duelists and breachers the Raptors had. After silencing one too many bloodthirsty commissars and inquisitors, he was forced to take up the status of Black Shield in the deathwatch. What was just a regular suicide mission to establish an uplink in the midst of a Chaos invasion he successfully fought and secured the station only to realize he signed his own doom, artillery came crashing down all around. He called in a bombardment that’d wipe the enemies and him along with it unknowingly. Miraculously and unfortunately he survived, the Inquisition saw fit to scramble his already broken and battered mind, fracturing his psyche and stuffing him into a machine that’d make sure he stayed that way. Given back to his chapter as ‘insurance’ he now fulfills that roll of a master line breaker though, now brutal and unrelenting fury rather than his cold calculated past self. A ghost in the shell that his captain, once former pupil of Ulysses, is forced to witness with every deployment.
Phew. This guy was BRUTAL to work on (pun intended) from the build to the painting and detail work, it took longer than I thought but I couldn’t be happier with the results. The Brutalis is arguably the least raptory dreadnought and that’s why I think it makes the best one. What better to work with a bunch of fast stealthy units than a giant agro farming behemoth who crunches and melts anything he touches. I’d love to hear thoughts if you have em! On his lore or painting!
