Sebastian Amoruso and Miyako allegations

I just wanted to put this out here, since I’ve seen very little discussion about this outside of TikTok.

I only learned about this today, and after looking through the information and receipts that have been circulating, I feel like I have a better understanding of the speculation surrounding the actors who played Jet and Toph in the live-action.

I remember seeing the video Miyako posted where she talked about her family allegedly abusing her by taking her money, stalking her, and other things she said she didn’t want to get into explicitly and one of her cast mates helping her get through the situation

Today, I came across a post where Miyako says about her cast mates “wasn’t really close with them” and that she “didn’t need to contact them anymore.” That made me start looking further into the situation. (I pinned the video to this post)

One of the major claims being discussed is that Miyako was allegedly groomed by Sebastian when she was 17 and he was 24. I want to be clear that this is an allegation/speculation circulating online, not something I’m presenting as an established fact to my knowledge

However, after looking at the different accounts and receipts being shared on TikTok, there is speculation that Sebastian may have had a significant influence over Miyako and that this contributed to her distancing herself from her family and castmates. According to the accounts I’ve seen, her family and some of her castmates tried to raise concerns about his behavior, but Miyako reportedly did not agree with them.

People have also pointed out that several of her former castmates—including Gordon, Kiawentiio, Ian, and Dallas—no longer appear to follow Sebastian except Miyako

What makes this especially heartbreaking is the possibility that someone so young may have been isolated from people who genuinely cared about her. Seeing her seemingly distance herself from friendships she once had, particularly with Gordon, is really sad.

I’m posting this because I genuinely don’t see enough discussion about this except on TikTok. You can check @>!lucylouuu1!< on TikTok for included receipts and screenshots.

I obviously don’t know these people personally, and I understand she wants to keep things “private” but these are serious allegations and it they are true, I hope Miyako is able to recognize the people who genuinely cared about her and have a support system around her.

Most importantly, we should continue to take allegations of grooming and sexual abuse seriously rather than protecting people simply because they’re actors we like.

My new comfort show!

Omg, I just finished Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love and can I say it was so so lovely!! Everything about it was so cute. The comedy, the art style, the characters, chef's kiss.

Sadly, I don't think this show has a fandom. I went to TikTok to look for edits, as I love doing after I finish a show, and there are hardly any!! I was so shocked. The rating on Crunchyroll is also so low, and I am so appalled because I think this was such a good, comfy watch that had me engaged the whole time.

I read some comments and it seems like most people don't want to give it a chance, or maybe they did but didn't like it because of the art style of the protagonist. I saw one comment saying "Animators always make chubby people look weird." I personally think her animation was so cute and very realistic. Also, how I love that this show is so body positive not like the usual trope where the main character has an accident when she's bigger and magically wakes up what is labeled as “societally acceptable.” I never understood that trope.

If you've watched it, what did you think? I am so excited for a potential next season, but seeing that it isn't very popular, I doubt they would do one (hopefully I'm wrong and they announce one soon, because it was really really good.) Oh, and the murder mystery was a thrill as well!

EDIT: Omg I’m so happy to see this anime is loved and y’all are excited to watch!! I also definitely agree that her art style could have been done better. When I was first watching I did notice her facial features could have been more refined or just not making her look so distinctively different from others in the anime. But that shouldn’t stop you from watching! The story plot is really interesting and funny omds and I still think it’s wholesome and a good representation overall! 🩷

Another EDIT: If you're thinking of giving this show a try, please do! See if you like it, and if you don't, that's okay, just move on. Don't let the arguments about her animation style discourage you from finding something you might love. I understand the concerns raised, but I still believe this show is really wholesome and deserves so much more recognition than it got. If you watch it, you might find that the plot is really about self-love and that your appearance does not determine whether you are worthy of love

Biol 1108 was horrible

BIOL 1108 was actually the worst class I took this semester. The exams were hard for no reason😭 Like A&P is easier than whatever this class was. I am so grateful for the resurrection points during the final that replaced the 3 exams I did horrible in. Genuinely, if you are taking this class make sure it’s with a good professor, and if you ever need practice questions I can send over the ones I complied. So glad the semester is over, have a great summer you all!! Remember to stay awesome!

Just to clarify >> I’m saying the class itself was horrible, not my professor. That’s why I said to take it with a good professor, because if the professor is also bad on top of how dense this class is, i can’t imagine how stressful your experience would be 😭
