Questions to Ask When Meeting Baby's Potential Family Doctor or Pediatrician [on]

FTM here - 26 weeks pregnant. My family doctor is awesome but she's not taking any more patients so I've been looking for a pediatrician or family doctor for my baby to be. Found one taking patients nearby and meeting her next week. What questions should I ask? What should I be looking for? Any red flags?

Is "Verbal Bullying" a More Painful Long Lasting Memory Than Physical Violence even chronic illness for Anyone Else?

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me". I wish this was true for me.

I've experienced things society considers far more traumatic than verbal bullying: rape following a drunken pool party. 3 diagnosed concussions from being headbutted and kicked in the jaw and multiple infected bite wounds while working in a group home. While working in a mental hospital - a hard punch to the face resulting in a broken nose, black eye, laceration to the eyebrow requiring stitches, and broken right wrist from using my hand to break the fall. Yet all these experiences I was able to just "get over" after a year or so. I rarely think about them.

I have level 1 autism and got bullied a lot in childhood because of it. I wish I could just "get over it" like the above experiences. Instead, every time I get frustrated (even just sitting traffic) I replay humiliating situations where everyone was laughing at me, all the horrible things said to me and behind my back which I heard

I also have a chronic illness (beta thalassemia major) that requires blood transfusions every 3 weeks. As a child I would indeed cry about frequently getting poked. As an adult, I'm completely used to it and accept it as part of my life. Given a choice between level 1 autism and thalassemia - I would pick thalassemia. I see the former as causing far more pain throughout my life.

Is this normal or is something very wrong with me?
