Building a third-party autofocus kit

I currently use a 50R with manual focus only (Nikon 50mm1.8 and Mitakon 65mm). Let’s say I have a budget of $1,200 and want to purchase 2-3 third-party autofocus lenses. I will also need an adapter. I was thinking:

  1. Viltrox EF-GFX Adapter: $260
  2. Canon 40mm 2.8 Pancake: $210 (on KEH currently)
  3. The new Meike 85mm 1.8 G Mount: $400
4.???? I could find something in-between these focal lengths or something longer. I mainly shoot portraits and prefer lenses that don’t feel too clunky on the 50R (looking at you Mitakon).

What do you think of this set up? What would you change?

Doctors/Psychiatrists that are open to medication

To my detriment, I have always been someone who shies away from mental health professionals and medications such as antidepressants. But, I have always known that I have issues dealing with stress, mood regulation, and maybe a touch of anger management. Luckily I have never dealt with depression. I became a parent about a year ago and decided I wanted to make a change…I don’t want my child to see me freak out when I have to deal with minor inconveniences, procrastination, etc.

I started doing a lot of research and became curious if I may have undiagnosed ADHD or something similar.

I talked to my PCP in the Baptist Healthcare system back in March. I have always liked the guy and we have a good relationship, but I was taken aback when he suggested that this was likely just anxiety from becoming a new parent and that I should focus on mindfulness etc. He sent me to Baptist Behavioral Health.

My first appointment was just an intake, but I went in depth with the doctor about what I was concerned about. They scheduled a first “real” appointment for a month later.

At the second appointment, I came in and she asked me how things had been going. I told her I had a really good month. Work was smooth, baby was great, it was a chill month. We continued on with the appointment and at the end I was flabbergasted when she suggested that I didn’t need therapy. She echoed my PCP that this was likely just new stress brought on by the baby and things would reach an equilibrium. She discharged me that day.

Well…as soon as work got overwhelming a couple of months later it all came right back.

This part will be controversial, but I have since tried adderall from a friend and it was like coming out of a fog. My mood elevated, I was nice to my coworkers, had no problem getting my work done and my gym routine in. I don’t know if I have ADHD or not, and I don’t want to go on medication if I don’t need it…but I would love to find a doctor that will take my concerns seriously and diagnose me properly without having to spend $1k.

Can anyone speak to my experience or suggest a path forward?
