Driving on i35

Moved here last year, so this is my first time seeing heavy roadwork on i35. I drive up to OKC every day for work, and without fail someone driving on the unfnished lane kicks up a rock and itll hit my windshield hard. I'm always at least one lane over because I don't like driving on the unfinished stuff. Today in particular was infuriating because I was at least 150ft back from the car in the right lane and I had a huge one hit and chip my windshield.

Is that normal here?? They just leave it unfinished and let people drive on it?? I've lived in 5 states and heavily driven in 7, and the concept of leaving an unfinished surface open for driving is so foreign to me. I already have 3 visible chips in my windshield and lots of tiny dots since they started the roadwork. Just infuriating. Honestly considering taking 36th or flood up to near indian hills rd even if that adds 10-20 mins to my commute.

Leaking tire, going on trip

Hi all,

My tire is suddenly leaking pretty fast (35 - 8 psi in ~ 2hrs) and im leaving for a trip in a few hours. I found the culprit nail and am planning to get a new tire but needing some advice on what to do...

  1. Leave the original tire on until I get back on Monday, upon which I take it to a hopefully open tire shop. It will probably get fully flat in a few hours, and will sit on the flat tire until I get back and fill it up before going to repair.
  2. Switch it out for the donut, let it sit on the donut until Monday (is that ok?) The sources I see talk about maximum on driving the donut, but not for putting it on and letting the car sit for a few days.

edit: thanks for all the suggestions. my donut had good pressure so I just ended up leaving it there. This occured at 11pm so all the stores near me were closed, and the nail was ~1/2 inch from the shoulder so not sure if plugging it would have even been a safe option
