Tennochi has to be one of the BEST SatoSugu fanfic writers on AO3 and deserves ALL of the recognition!

I need to talk about TenNochi on AO3 for a second because I have somehow ended up reading through her ALL of her SatoSugu AUs and I genuinely cannot remember the last time I was this impressed by a fanfic writer.

If you haven’t read her stuff, she’s the author of The End of All We Know, Duality, and Lilies at Their Feet.
And I’m not exaggerating when I say these feel like actual novels.

The End of All We Know is the Victorian naval/pirate AU with Commodore Gojo and pirate Geto, and it is MASSIVE. There are ships and naval battles and politics and cursed energy lore and this huge adventure happening around them, but somehow the heart of the story is still just… Satoru and Suguru. Two people who keep colliding with each other no matter how much history, ideology, anger and sheer angst and drama they put between themselves. I just finished this fic and was worried that I wouldn’t like the AU they were placed in but TRUST ME, it WORKS! It is ABSOLUTELY amazingly well-written and their love story contains beautiful parallels to actual JJK. I laughed and cried while reading this.

Then there’s Duality, which is vampire Gojo/priest Geto, and the atmosphere in that fic is CRAZY! The SLOW BURN! I don’t know how she has the patience to build relationships this slowly because I certainly don’t have the patience to READ them normally, and yet somehow she has me thrilled over the smallest scraps of intimacy.

Lilies at Their Feet is detective Gojo/hacker Geto and once again it’s an entirely different universe with its own tone and plot and somehow they still feel like them. This specific plot line literally has me CLAWING at my inbox everyday waiting for a new chapter drop. It is INTOXICATING how she is writing their love story and extremely addicting.

Tennochi as a writer has such a rich understanding of world-building, dialogue, and the actual CHARACTERS of JJK (especially Satoru and Suguru). She seems to actually think about who Satoru and Suguru would be if they had been born into completely different circumstances. Their decisions shift accordingly, their histories change, their relationships to the world change, but there’s always something underneath them that is unmistakably Gojo and Geto.

And her WORLDBUILDING! INCREDIBLE!

So basically this post has two purposes:

  1. Has anyone else here read her work?? Because I desperately want to know which one is everyone’s favorite and/or discuss her works with ANYONE! As well as raise awareness around how utterly FABULOUS her works are!

  2. And PLEASE give me other SatoSugu authors writing at this level!
I don’t necessarily mean similar plots or even similar AUs. I mean writers who make you sit there afterward thinking, how the hell did I just read that for free?

I want the huge stories. The insane worldbuilding. The slow burn that actually earns the burn. Beautiful prose without everyone sounding like they’re constantly delivering poetry at each other. Characterization that understands Gojo and Geto beyond some of the surface-level fandom versions of them. Stories where the author clearly had a whole vision and committed to it.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk lol

Canon Gojo Fanfics

Hi Everyone!

I have been reading some amazing AU fanfics on AO3 recently but have yet to find any compelling fanfics that are Gojo-focused, well-written, and with superb characterization that are either in-universe or even canon adjacent (set in the JJK universe but maybe an alternate timeline, time travel, fix-it,etc.)

I would love to see if anyone has any reccos for FFs that fit this criteria. The AUs are quite impressive but sometimes I yearn to read about Gojo in the actual JJK-verse (100 points if he is actually written just like his character very well!)

Thank you for your help in advance!

EXTRA BONUS if the fics have:
-Hidden Inventory (Gojo/Geto dynamics, his Jujutsu HS days)
-Gojo and Megumi dynamics (him being his caretaker)
-Fix it stories for specific things (Shibuya Incident, Geto’s defection)
-Him being a teacher

Thank you!!

Fanfics Needed Please

I am just starting to read SatoSugu fanfics (I know, I know!) and need recommendations.

I love mature/adult themes, angst, slow burn, AU.

Preferably, I need a happy ending because if I want a sad one, I’ll just re-read the manga for the umpteenth time (or watch JJK0 and get depressed).

I just finished devouring Handle with Care by aonusumika and it literally left me breathless! It was absolutely so beautiful and well-written that I’m nervous that I won’t find anything like it again. (Strongly recommend it!)

Please feel free to give me all of your recs! I need to forget about my hectic work week and drown into a fanfic abyss of my favorite ship.

BONUS:
If you know of any really good Itafushi fics, I’ll take some of those recs as well :)

New to AnimeExpo

I know the expo is next month and I have been really debating on just going solo since none of my friends watch anime!

Would anyone recommend going solo for their first time?

Also, I really wanna go for the JJK 5-year anniversary event that is on Day 5 (i believe) so I would just be going for like 1-2 days. In your opinion, would that be worth it?

Also, the hotels the official website are suggesting are insanely overpriced. Any reccos on lodging would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for the help!

Is this a safe space…

I randomly decided to re-read the manga after finishing Season 3 and I genuinely forgot how hard Gojo’s death hits me.

What’s weird is that it’s been years. The series is over. I’ve had plenty of time to process it. I already know exactly what’s coming. I even understand why Gege felt he had to do it from a story perspective. This isn’t another “he shouldn’t have died” post.

But I got to that chapter and had to put the manga down because I actually felt upset all over again.

I know he’s fictional. I know the story has moved on. I know there are bigger tragedies in the series. Yet seeing it happen again felt like getting punched in the stomach. I even shed a tear, which honestly surprised me because I knew every panel that was coming.

I think part of it is that Gojo was such a massive presence in the story for me. He wasn’t just a strong character. He was the emotional center of the series in a lot of ways. His confidence, loneliness, hope for the next generation, all of it. Watching him disappear so abruptly still feels jarring.

The strange thing is that the feeling hasn’t really faded with time. If anything, re-reading made me realize I never fully got over it.

And that’s why I’m honestly not looking forward to seeing it animated.

Usually animation elevates a moment and makes it more exciting. In this case, I almost dread it. The voice acting, the music, the inevitable flood of clips online… I feel like it’s going to hit even harder than it did in the manga.

Am I the only one who still feels this way years later?
Not necessarily angry. Not arguing that it shouldn’t have happened. Just genuinely sad whenever I revisit it.

I’m curious if anyone else has a character death that still affects them long after a series ended, or if Gojo’s death is still one that hasn’t fully settled for you either.

Hopefully this is a safe space to discuss.
