PMDD at 46: Could this also be perimenopause?

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your perspective and advice.
I’m 46, and I was diagnosed with PMDD by an endocrinologist about four years ago. Since then, I’ve tried to manage it on my own with exercise, routines, diet, and staying socially active. Sometimes I’ve managed it better than others, but honestly, it hasn’t been enough.
This October I’ve had a particularly intense episode, and it has made me seriously consider whether it’s time to look into a more substantial treatment.
I’m also wondering whether, at 46, some of what I’m experiencing could now be related to perimenopause. I recently went through a breakup, so I’m trying to separate what might be situational from what could actually be PMDD or hormonal changes.
My main question is: who should I see first? An endocrinologist, a psychiatrist, or a general doctor? My gynecologist hasn’t been very helpful in this area, as her approach has mainly been about general lifestyle management.
I’d really love to hear from people who have been treated for PMDD. What kind of specialist did you see, what treatment did you try, and did you actually notice an improvement in your emotional well-being and quality of life?
I live in Mexico City, so if anyone here has had a good experience with a specialist who really understands PMDD and/or perimenopause, I’d also be very grateful for recommendations.
Thank you!

How do you learn to read poetry?

Hi! I’m new to poetry, and I’ve been trying to read poems more attentively, but I often get frustrated because I finish reading and feel like I didn’t really understand what I just read or what idea the poem was trying to convey.
I know poetry is meant to be experienced in different ways, not just understood literally, but does anyone have any tips for approaching poetry in a way that might help me enjoy it more and feel less frustrated?
Thank you!

Is there a shortwave radio that can also receive CB?

I’m completely new to shortwave radio, so I’m not even sure if what I’m looking for exists.
I’m looking for a single radio that can receive shortwave and also let me listen to CB (around 27 MHz). I’d mainly use it at home, just as a hobby, especially at night.
If something like this exists, what would you recommend as a good model for a complete beginner? I’d prefer something reasonably easy to use rather than a very complicated setup.
Thanks! I’m still learning all the terminology, so any advice is welcome. 📻

US truckers: any memorable stories from crossing into Mexico?

I’m curious if any US truckers here who run cross-border routes into Mexico have a funny, unusual, memorable, or even difficult story involving a Mexican truck driver or a colleague on the Mexican side.
I’m interested in hearing about the human side of cross-border trucking — friendships, misunderstandings, unexpected encounters, cultural differences, things that happened at the border, or just a story you’ve never forgotten.
I’m based in Mexico and I’m researching stories about truck drivers and the trucking industry here, so I’m particularly interested in experiences that connect the two sides of the border.
I’d love to hear your stories, whether they’re funny, strange, heartwarming, or not so much.

Did I dream this movie, or does anyone know what I’m talking about?

I’m trying to remember a movie I watched years ago, probably on cable TV, but I have almost no information about it.
For some reason, I remember it being connected to Malcolm X, and also to the British royal family — possibly Princess Margaret, although I’m not sure. I vaguely remember something involving a scandal, intimate or compromising photographs of a royal woman, and connections between her and artists or people from the music/arts scene.
That’s honestly about all I remember. 😂 I don’t remember the title, the actors, or even when the movie was made. I just remember really enjoying it.
I’m starting to wonder if I’ve mixed together several movies in my memory, or if this was actually a real film.
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? If you have any idea what movie I might be thinking of, I’d love some clues!

Can anyone help me with the lyrics to “Catalyst” by The Venus Fly Trap?

I’ve been a fan of The Venus Fly Trap since the mid-1990s. They’re a British band from Northampton, and I’ve always loved their music. One of my favorite songs is “Catalyst.”
I actually discovered them as a teenager in Mexico, when I found one of their compilations in a little shop that specialized in rare music. I’ve kept listening to them ever since.
The funny thing is that I’ve never been able to find the lyrics to “Catalyst” online. I can understand some parts of the song, but there are other lines that I just can’t make out.
Would anyone here happen to know the lyrics, or be able to help me figure out some of the words I’m missing? Even pointing me toward a source where I could find them would be a huge help. Thank you!

Is it legal to sell old radio programs recorded on cassette?

I’m wondering if anyone here knows about the legal side of selling old radio recordings.
Between 1995 and 1998, I recorded many radio programs from Rock 101, a legendary Mexican radio station that became a cult favorite because of its hosts, programming and the quality of its content.
I’ve kept these cassettes ever since. Some listeners from that era have uploaded short clips online for free, and I did that myself years ago, although I don’t currently have a way to digitize the tapes.
It recently occurred to me that these recordings might have some value to collectors, especially because they document a particular period of a radio station that no longer exists in its original form.
But I’m not sure about the legal situation. Would it be legal to sell the original cassettes as vintage/nostalgic collectibles, even though they contain copyrighted radio broadcasts? Does it make a difference that I’m selling the physical tapes I personally recorded, rather than making new copies?
I’d also be interested to hear from collectors: would something like this actually have value?

Looking for live overnight radio with that 90s feel

Hi! This is actually my first-ever Reddit post, so I hope I’m asking this in the right place.
I’m from Mexico, and I’m looking for radio stations or programs that are actually live during the late-night/overnight hours — ideally with a real host, listener interaction, and maybe even live call-ins.
I grew up listening to radio in the 90s, and there’s something about late-night radio that I really miss: being awake at 1, 2 or 3 a.m., hearing a host talking to listeners, taking calls, discussing random topics, playing music, and just having that feeling that you’re sharing the night with other people who happen to be awake too.
Unfortunately, I don’t find much of that kind of radio anymore where I live in Mexico. A lot of what I find is automated music, recorded shows, or podcasts, which isn’t quite the same thing.
I’d love to discover stations anywhere in the world. They don’t have to be in English or even have the same kind of music I grew up with. I’m mainly looking for that old-school, live, late-night radio feeling.
I use Radio Garden, but I’m also happy to try other platforms or station websites.
So: what are your favorite live overnight radio shows or stations? Especially ones with live hosts, listener calls, conversations, weird late-night topics, or that feeling that anything could happen because it’s actually happening live.
Thanks!
