Looking for cool, sociable people who would be willing to be the Dungeon Master for community DnD sessions.

Heyo. I own a small coffee shop in Cap Hill with a loft space and as an avid gamer myself, would love to host some weekly DnD sessions. However, it has been many a year since I've been a DM, so I'd prefer to find others in the community who'd want to participate as the DM.

Bonus points if you'd want to try to do a women's only group or LGBTQ+ board game nights. I'll help make it happen.

Commissioning a giant mural inspired by board gaming. What are some references/easter eggs/inside jokes that I should include?

I'm opening a board game cafe (not going to mention the name since I'm not doing this to promote the business and just want feedback) and paying one of my favorite local artists to do a pretty big mural on one of our walls. It's going to be a crazy "Where's Waldo style" type of mural with a bunch of fun elements involved. The goal is to have a bunch of board game references and Easter eggs.

I've provided him a list of a few things, but I want to draw inspiration from the community too. What are some fun scenes or tidbits that we can include that would be recognizable? I don't want to infringe on any copyrighted material, so it's not going to pulling art or characters from games (but can you imagine a giant Wingspan mural....) More of a reference to the things we love, inside jokes, etc...

I brainstormed a bit. Here's a few examples of things that I was thinking so far.

  • Giant Monkey attacking our city - King of Tokyo Inspiration
  • Somebody crushed under a Nat 1 on a D20 dice - DnD
  • People trading lumber for sheep - Settlers of Catan Inspiration
  • Wolf disguised as person surrounded by medieval townspeople - One Night Ultimate Werewolf
  • Meeple in a Field - Carcassonne
  • Haunted House on a Hill - Betrayal

What are some other things I could include? I just want to include the community. Board gaming in general is best done with others, so it feels a little wrong to just be deciding on this by myself.
