Shoegaze listeners, where do you see the genre going?

For while, I've been reading and hearing about shoegaze being a genre that has become repetitive. Nothing really new is coming out and/or much of it sounds the same

I've stopped listening to shoegaze for this reason but also because it's just not a genre that is all that interesting to me but I wanted to know what people who actively listen and love the genre think about the future of shoegaze and where they think it's heading?

Do you see some bands experimenting with different influences? Are you seeing more bands incorporate different influences into their music? Shoegaze brands using their shoegaze sound but in different ways? etc.?

For example, I listen to a lot of post hardcore, emo, etc. whatever you wanna call it and I hear a lot of metalcore and melodic influence being blended with screamo such as I Promised The World. I've also heard a little bit of bands that blend death metal with screamo/metalcore/post hardcore

Super cool to hear and I really like the pathway that the genre/genres that I'm listening to are taking and I'm wondering what that is looking like for shoegaze; a genre which has been seen as a bit lacking and stagnant for a while

Should I major in environmental science or general plant science?

My current major is environmental science but I could easily switch since I haven't started school at all yet. Today, I just saw a pathway called general plant science and it had me second guessing my current major

I mostly enjoy plants which is what makes me think i should switch but after reading some posts regarding careers, it seems that degrees in gen plant sci are more niche and there are more options for env sci

Environmental science may be less math intensive and provide more career opportunities but I may like it a bit less

General plant science is a bit more interesting but needs more math and has less career opportunities

This is just what I have gathered after searching for a bit so i would like more insight on this topic!

Budget friendly advice on body moisturizing?

I have been focusing on my face for a long time now since I've had issues with it but I realized that I don't really do anything for body

I have this weird smelling aveeno lotion that smells like glue and since then, I've wanted to find something else. Regular aveeno works but I want to know what you all use and recommend

I want to get extremely soft skin, but I don't really know where to start. I hear a lot about oils, butters, and creams, but I need something budget-friendly that I won't feel bad about using a bunch of.

For context, I’m a guy with no specific body skin issues right now. My routine is just moisturizing my entire body in the morning after I shower, so I need something that won't feel too heavy throughout the day.

Any recommendations for a daily, budget-friendly moisturizer?

Do i need to change my bed frame if I have a good box spring?

My current bed frame is one of those picture frame style frames where there is no middle portion but i do have a box spring that is quite sturdy

My mattress is going bad because of sagging and I'm thinking about buying an new one but I'm wondering if i have to spend money on a bed frame when the box spring feels fine

I just don't want to spend money where i don't need to

How often is a mattress supposed to last?

edit: i know the title is worded weird. How long is a mattress supposed to last/How often are you supposed to replace a mattress is my question. I got caught up in the middle of writing this post so just allow it lol

I've had this Beautyrest 12" Medium Mattress for about 2 years now and I'm experiencing significant sagging issues that are killing my back and looking at the reviews, others are experiencing much simialr things so it's not a manufacturing defect issue

My childhood mattress from 20 years ago is still good and the only reason I replaced it was because I wanted to size down and have a twin mattress.

Is this a matter of "they don't make em how they used to"? I know that twin size mattresses probably have shorter lifespans because you are sitting in the exact same spot every night but 2 years? Is this common nowadays?

I read another comment that stated that mattresses are basically a big scam and that almost all mattresses need replacing after about 2 years so maybe they're right

It just sucks because I don't just have $400+ to spend on a mattress so I'm searching all over to find a good mattress for not a huge price but it's hard

2020s rap/hip hop has my favorite production but my least favorite rappers

Disclaimer: I obviously haven't heard all of 2020s rap and hip hop so take this post lightly lol. I just wanted to talk about my opinion with the sound and genres that I have listened to. I'm mostly talking about the plugnb and rage genres in this post

I recently listened to Trip at Knight by Trippie Redd and some of the instrumentals on there are insanely good. The song "Supercell" for example is one of my favorites but the lyrics on this song and throughout the album are terrible.

"She sucked them Dragon Balls, Bitch, I feel like cell"

It's just awful.

Osamason, Slayr, and some other underground rappers that I forget the name of, all have these amazing instrumentals but the rapping and lyrics just suck so bad

The one rapper that I've liked so far is Esdeekid. His accent is something I haven't heard before in rap which makes it much more interesting to listen to

The rage and plugnb genres are full of the amazing instrumentals but some of the worst rappers i have ever heard

This isn't really a discussion but i just wanted to put my thoughts out there to see if people feel similarly or differently

Does it get easier once I actually get through the initial process of just getting into school?

I recently made a post in the vent subreddit basically talking about how i don't want to go to college but i know that I have to go because there's not really a good alternative for me

Just thinking about applying and looking at the process makes me so exhausted and having a very poor academic history doesn't help

I'm just hoping and wondering that it's all easier done than said. I know college isn't easy but starting seems to be the hardest part right now

Basically the title

I just started listening to Paramore and as I was searching about them on youtube, I found these vlogs that they would do that are really cool to watch but I was wondering where they originally posted them on

From my understanding, they had their own website at one point or something? Or did they just post on some social media at the time
