Weapon of choice?
Just curious, what do you guys usually stick with? Do you rotate weapons a lot or stay loyal to one/two throughout the game? Pretty much every time I replay the Postal series, I somehow end up going full melee goblin by the end of it.
What weapon feels the most comfortable/fun to use for you personally?
Your mood this Friday, but described with Postal. I’ll go first:
Can you guys recommend some actually private note-taking tools?
I’m trying to move away from the whole ‘everything synced to a corporation’s cloud forever’ experience. Preferably something encrypted, minimalist, and not designed by people who think AI summaries are a personality trait.
Did John McAfee Actually Open Our Eyes to Online Privacy… or Just Paranoid Everyone?
John McAfee bailed on his own company in 1994 and spent the next 30 years screaming about surveillance while everyone else was still chill.
He didn’t build Tor or Signal. But here’s what he actually did:
2013 (a full year before Snowden): dropped D-Central, a $100 pocket-sized gadget that created local encrypted mesh networks so you could dodge the NSA completely.
DEF CON 2014: went on stage and straight-up told the crowd: “Stop using smartphones. They’re spying on you and you don’t even read the terms.”
Kept hammering that encryption is mostly bullshit “a steel door on a glass house.” If your device is compromised (and they almost always are), Signal, ProtonMail, etc. don’t save you.
The guy lived what he preached: Faraday cages, 9-country VPN chains, no regular phone. Total chaos.
Most of his projects flopped and he was unhinged as hell… but his nonstop circus made “they’re watching everything” stop sounding like tinfoil-hat talk and start sounding obvious.
Real question:
Did McAfee actually shift how normal people think about privacy, or was he just the loudest showman with zero lasting impact?
Is Pi-hole on a Raspberry Pi worth it for whole-network protection?
Hey there, does anyone here have experience with Pi-hole?
So far I’ve set it up locally on my laptop through docker. But now I’m wondering if it’s worth investing in a Raspberry Pi and connecting it directly to my router to cover my entire network instead of just one machine.
Did you notice any real advantages after moving to a dedicated Pi-hole setup?
Is Threema considered a good privacy-focused messenger in 2026?
I’ve been looking into privacy-focused messengers and noticed that Threema is mentioned less often these days compared to Signal or SimpleX.
For people who still use it: what are its main advantages and disadvantages today from a privacy perspective?
