Advice on first table

Hello

I am finally getting my first table and there's something that confuses me.

Seen people say that Rega Planar 1 is amongst the best sounding TTs in that price range. Also to note I live in the UK. I've seen that cartridge swaps are limited due to the set anti skate and that the stock one is very basic

I was curious how it would compare for example with an Audio Technica lp50 which is roughly the same price but with adjustable weight and anti skate, obviously the advantage being upgrading it easier down the line.

Thing to note is that I am all new to this, I enjoy listening to music but I don't know if I will be able to get into vinyl yet, I just want to test the waters.

Opinions on Rega P1 vs Pro Ject T1 Evo?

I am looking to probably get one of the two. Living in UK, the rega I could get for 300 pounds, while the Pro ject for the same price of it's open box, about 360 new. What do you folks think of the two?

Edit: I am looking to get something new. Second hand implies knowing how to separate the good from the bad and to travel to pick it up in some cases.

No, I am not looking to save more for something else. I am just looking to get something alright for this price and listen to some vinyl, not be a snob. With all due respect, please be helpful or do not reply with random stuff

Rega P1 Advice

Hello!

I am soon getting my first turn table and I had some questions which I couldn't find answers to that easily somewhere else.

From looking around I gathered that the Rega P1 could be a solid choice for me. It's roughly at my budget limit (talking only turn table, no other equipment here), people say it's a solid one and I live in the UK so grabbing one is rather easy at a decent price (300 pounds)

I am happy to upgrade my setup as I go, including trying out different cartridges later on, but that's where I got confused regarding this turntable. Since the weight and anti skate aren't changeable for this, is a change actually possible, at least for someone that is new to this?

Should I look at this turntable or grab something that is easier to upgrade later on?

Thanks!

Hey folks! I decided to finally get into turntables and would like some advice with what I could get.

Looking for now to just test the waters and not go all in but I'm happy to spend just a bit more to have room to expand if something is worth it. For example, for now I'm looking for something with an included phono stage but even better if I can add one later on.

Currently I only have a sonos speaker which I plan to use with a line in, but probably will get some different speakers in the future.

Not really looking to go over £250 so far, although it's just a guideline. Thanks for the help!
