New 2026 3500 L8T Denali engine failure @2200miles ~3600km

So here's my story, I am located in northern Canada.

I had a 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Cummins. Twice the DEF tank frozen/broke. One on warranty. One off $1400 repair. Turbo blew at about 58000miles/93000km. $10k repair.

New front end at 67100miles/108000km $4.5k repair.

Then air suspension failed at 72000miles/ 116000km. They are $2100 for each bag. And double it for installed. $8k 🤦‍♂️

That was enough, I had been paying more than a monthly finance of a new in-warranty truck

So I bought a 2026 GMC sierra 3500 Denali on June 19th. I was pretty excited about it, and immediately loved the rear bumper steps and multipro tailgate. (How other truck manufacturers haven't copied the steps is crazy)

Well a Trip to the BC coast and @2200miles/3600km catastrophic engine failure.

"Bottom end noise, and metal contamination in the oil, and all cylinders misfiring" was exact diagnosis. New engine required. Likely wont see my truck for a month.

The dealership and GMC has treated me very well, no complaints there.

I'm curious what y'all think?

Would a new engine replacement on the vehicle history reduce future resale value? Would you trust this truck again?

My excitement and trust in this vehicle has been obliterated at the very height of it. So I'm seeking outside advice on a path forward.

TLDR: Truck engine blew up at 2200miles. Replacement engine coming ~1month. How do I get excited for this truck now? How to trust the reliability of it?

New truck offer.

Hello GMC fam, im looking to trade in my 2017 ram 2500 diesel.

I'm in a very northern climate, and im tired of the emissions issues in the cold.

I have an old hockey buddy GM sales agent offering me a 3500 long bed Denali gasser for the equivalent of $69,700 of your freedom dollars.

Also offering $30k for my truck with 74k miles on it.

Is this a good deal? I haven't seen much in that range up here in the north. But I thought I'd ask here what kind of deals you're seeing down south.

I miss this Legend's colour commentary already.

He really is one of the greats of colour commentary. These playoffs are missing good broadcasting right now.
