Digital Devil Saga: INSTANT KARMA QoL/hack/cheat pack! A HUD for resistances and buff levels, native 3x/6x turbo with no audio distortion, a reworked SET screen, widescreen, control encounter frequency, and more!
It's here: https://github.com/countlessbats/digital-devil-saga-instant-karma-hackpack/releases/tag/v0.7.42
Features! Install any or all independently as suits you:
| Module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Prey Eyes | A complete combat UI overhaul. Discover enemy weaknesses by experiment or by killing them, then see them represented in a board and in targeting reticles, and previewed on enemies as you browse skills. See buff and debuff stacks. Inspired by SMTV's system. |
| Native Turbo | Speed up time without distorting audio. Hold R2/L2 for 3x/6x, click R3/L3 to toggle 3x/6x. Paused while the menu is open. Also automatically speeds up the Mantra acquisition screen's transitions. |
| SET Screen | Increases the SET screen width to 3 columns and adds COST and ALPHABETICAL sort modes on START. |
| Widescreen | 16:9 widescreen. The 3D view gets wider while menus, text and portraits keep their original shape. Sets PCSX2 to 16:9 while it is on. |
| BattleButtons | In combat, R1 quick-passes your turn, L1 quick-attempts to escape, and the right stick skips a page up or down in the command lists. |
| SubtleKarma | Press up on the d-pad to toggle encounters. |
| SunKing | Press down on the d-pad to cycle sun state between min and max. |
| TwoForOne | Press SELECT to adjust combat frequency and rewards, from 1/2 to 1/5 as many; when you have fewer encounters, you get equal-proportionately more rewards. Affects experience, atma, macca and item drop rates--drop rates over 100% give a chance for extra items. No effect on bosses. |
| BadKarma | Press right on the d-pad to instantly start a fight. TwoForOne reward bonuses apply. |
| GoodKarma | Press left on the d-pad to instantly start a rare fight against a lone Omoikane. TwoForOne reward bonuses apply. |
| QuickStart | During bootup, press START to load your latest save straight away, with no title screen or menus. Press any other button to skip straight to the title menu. |
| SceneSkip | Press START to hyper-turbo through cutscenes, cutting pre-rendered movies. Stops at choices; press START again to carry on. Needs Native Turbo. |
| OpenChests | No more confirmation on opening chests. |
| WordTripper | Dialogue appears instantly. |
| QuickHeal | Inspecting a recovery terminal heals the whole party instantly, no menu. Large Karma Terminals automatically charge the party to heal as they open. Costs the same macca as healing everyone in the menu. |
Dwarf Fortress in Doom 0.0.1: Fortress Exploration Mode, featuring Gemgriffons, the Obsidian Castle!
I reached out to user C7rl_Al7_1337 to see if they'd be down to let me demo their castle in Doom, and they graciously okayed it!
what is there to say that's not said in the video, uhhh--only that at present I have no plans to "front end"-ify this! many years ago on DF Talk Tarn Adams made a comment to the effect that he wasn't sure about anyone writing a whole UI to run a 3D version of the game, and I wouldn't go against his wishes in this matter--busy with Qud, anyway!
It's not perfect: the author had this to say:
"Also, I wonder why it generated the towers with such huge pillars on top of them like that, It looks pretty cool either way, but I'm pretty sure they're more like triangles, with ramps on the sides and whatnot normally."
I'm sure that's correct and the algorithm just misread them, lol. So this could probably be released in this state--would people be interested in that?
Dwarf Fortress in Doom - Looking for a world+fort I can load with interesting 3D structures! Statues, halls with big pits, grand tall fort facades--I need cool stuff to visualize!
EDIT: Found one I like, contacting the author to see if they'll let me demo it!
Hey!
Yesterday I put out a video of the very first pre-pre-predemo of my Dwarf Fortress in Doom--tool? Toy? Whatever it is and is going to be!
I got fortress exploration mode going today, but the problem is I don't...have any cool fortresses! I know this community gets up to some pretty intense builds--are there any saves out there I could load in the current DF version with dramatic 3D structures fit for visualization?
Dwarf Fortress in Doom v0.0.0.0 Pre-Pre Alpha First Look
I've been working on an interpreter that lets you play a complete, live game of Caves of Qud via a Doom client, and people have been asking if the same could be done with Dwarf Fortress--and it turns out it can!
Qud-in-Doom Pre-Alpha Sneak Peek!
I've been up to something!
Introducing REAPER STANCE for Deadfire! A modal granting permanent Reaping Knives to ciphers during combat. Now with custom colors and blending!
SMTVV Freeplay Mod: Now with flight! Keep Essences on use, see Mimans early, heal instantly at leylines, NG+ miracles from the start!

I posted about this one on initial release, but the new(ish) flight/superjump feature seems worth another mention.
Have fun!
P1: REAPER STANCE mod! Recolor your Reaping Knives in multiple hues, and grant your ciphers a permanent set of them!
It's here!: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity/mods/462
I was way into Soul Reaver as a kid and am constantly disappointed at soulknife-type options--even when they are offered, they're sooo often the lame "spectral version of a physical sword" trope. I much prefer a terrifying arm-length glow--the Pillars aesthetic got me perfectly.
But they're sooo late-game and sooo situational that I thought I'd fix that! Introducing REAPER STANCE. Every cipher in your party now has a Reaper Stance modal they can toggle--you can leave it on all the time; it activates properly only in combat. Once in combat, you'll instantly sprout permanent Reaping Knives.
And an extra 45 minutes of tinkering got us recolors, too! Hit F9 to open a menu to tailor the color and opacity of your blades--there are 8ish individual components, each of which can be shown, hidden and colorized separately in the ADVANCED mode.
This will PROBABLY work on normal Reaping Knives as well--I may release a standalone version of the mod, but frankly, just don't touch the modal and you're 99% of the way there with this edition.
Have fun! My next project is multiplayer--already got the first step working!
RELEASED MOD: Ferrum Sanctum Tamer: Hide overhead Ferrum Sanctum icon; optionally, reduce or remove its damage multiplier!
The Tamer lets you do two things:
-Hide the overhead Ferrum Sanctum icon otherwise forever welded to every modified character.
-Modify the Ferrum Sanctum damage multiplier to 10%, 5%, or remove it entirely--which additionally removes the debuff.
Press ctrl-f10 in game to pull up the mod menu and adjust your settings.
