Tuition Code Rate

Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming Fall 2026 transfer student with about 65 transfer credits, so I’m expecting around 4 semesters left, maybe 5 worst case.

My tuition rate options are TVR_VARI, TLR_2526, and TLR_2627. I’m leaning TVR_VARI since variable seems cheaper and should be frozen through 2026–2027.

For transfers with about 2 years left, did you choose variable or locked? Did variable end up being the better choice?

Thanks!

Incoming transfer — what should I do before NSC?

Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming Fall 2026 transfer student majoring in Financial Planning. My NSC is July 17, and I’m trying to make sure I’m ready.

My checklist still shows FAFSA, housing, AP/IB scores, and Tuition Rate Code as incomplete. Housing/AP scores may not apply to me, so I’m mostly worried about the tuition rate code.

I have about 65 transfer credits, so I think I have around two years left. I already emailed my advisors to ask about what classes I still need, but I haven’t heard back yet.

A few questions:

  1. What should I prioritize before NSC?
  2. Is it normal for advisors to take a bit to respond before NSC?
  3. How should transfer students decide on the tuition rate code?
  4. Where do I sign up for the online orientation, and what do you actually do there?
  5. Anything you wish you did before NSC?

Thanks for any advice!

Gpa Defferal

How often is it that someone gets rejected when transferring when they have a high gpa like a 3.9+
in a major that’s required gpa is 3.25+, and if they have all the required courses complete. What would the reason be for getting rejected when I thought A&M value the gpa the highest

Official Transcript Question

Hi, I’m a transfer applicant to Texas A&M and got deferred pending my final college transcript from my community college. My transcript should be ready after final grades post, and I selected “send after final grades are posted” on Parchment.

I’m planning to send it electronically to Texas A&M College Station. Is there anything else I need to know or do?

For the June 1 deadline, am I okay as long as I request/send it before June 1, or does A&M have to receive and process it by then?

Once A&M gets it, will AIS show it as received/complete, or is there another way to know?

Has anyone had issues with Parchment transcripts arriving late or AIS not updating before the deadline?

Transfer

Does Texas A&M generally accept a good amount of transfer students, or is it much harder compared to freshman admission?

I’m interested in transferring into Financial Planning, and I was wondering how competitive that major is. I’ve heard people say A&M doesn’t really like taking transfer students, but I’m not sure how true that is.

For anyone who transferred or knows about the process, how difficult is it to get in?

I got deferred in February because I had a required course in progress. I should finish with around a 3.98–4.0 GPA and have solid ECs. I’m planning to submit my final transcript around the 16th, so does anyone know how long transfer decisions usually take after that?
