What type of fish is my pet fish? I think he’s a loach but can’t remember

I got him 8 years ago from a pet store and when I’ve been there more recently they no longer had his kind of fish for sale. Google image search hasn’t been helpful in finding this out so I’ve been curious if anyone in here can help me!

What (sub) species is my pet fish? I believe he is a loach but need help narrowing it down.

Basically the title, I've had him for around 8 years and can't remember what kind of fish he is and google image search has never given me an answer. I bought him at a pet store but when I've returned there years later they no longer had the same kind of fish as him.
