Wildlife Camera Settings
hello! I am struggling with taking wildlife photos with my 6D Mark II. I am not getting sharp focus and assume it’s user error or I have a setting incorrect on my camera. I wanted to see how others are getting their photos so sharp.
I am going on a bear tour in Alaska, and would like to get some great photos in focus. I also enjoy taking photos of birds (which I know would require adjustments in settings)
I use the Canon 100 - 400 mm lens 4.5 - 5.6 L IS II for wildlife photos.
I use the M mode for photos camera. I have my camera set to Al Servio, and use auto focus single point. Then try to keep my ISO between, 200 - 1000, my aperture at 5 or 5.6 and shutter no lower than 1/120 normally adjusting aperture and shutter speed before adjusting ISO. On the lends it self, I have the stabilizer, AF turned on. I used stabilizer mode 3 and it’s on 3m - infinity.
Overall I would just like to make sure I am not making a dumb aerror with either my AF setting (I have tried manual and am just not there yet to get things focused) or setting on my lens. If there are other in camera settings or basic setting adjustments please let me know!
