Lobster Roll

Just paid $36 for 4 ounces of lobster in a lobster roll in Bar Harbor town. Is that the going rate these days? Any places you’d suggest outside of town where you get more for less? Seems wild.

Dillon Colorado Saturday Show Details

Anyone know the set times / schedule for the Saturday show in Dillon CO? Says the show starts at 4pm. Seems hella early, even for having a few openers. Thanks fam.

We’re planning to replace about 2,300 sq ft of flooring in our ~$1M home in Colorado where we plan to live long-term. We have two young kids, so durability is important.

Right now, half the first floor is 30-year-old hardwood and the rest of it all is carpet, and we want to switch everything to a consistent wood look. Old owners had dogs, and we have dog allergies in the family, and the carpets are just nasty even after professional cleaning.

We’re deciding between luxury engineered hardwood vs legit hardwood, and we’re trying to balance durability, appearance, and long-term value.

Looking for advice on:

  • Engineered vs solid hardwood for a high-traffic family home. For engineered, at least 3MM layer to allow for 1-2 refinishes?
  • Best wood species and finishes for durability (scratches/dents). Leading towards Acacia?
  • What contractors typically don’t tell you or what to watch out for.
  • Key questions to ask and red flags when reviewing bids and installation plans
