Calprotectin levels
I was on skyrizi leading up until this time last year but I changed jobs and my current insurance refused to cover it so I have been taking Tremfya for past 7 months with minimal improvements.
Recently had stool study and bloodwork and my calprotectin is extremely high at 1070 and from the bloodwork my iron is extremely low.
I’m down 40 lbs, was 205 a year go and I was 163 as of Wednesday. The test results did help in finally getting Skyrizi approved which I had first infusion for on Wednesday, but I’m worried about right now and the inflammation I’m dealing with.
I’m very sick (constant bathroom trips, trouble holding it, having to wear depends every time I leave the house and not to mention blood in stool) and my doctor will barely call me back, it took four calls and me finally going in lto the office and having a come to Jesus moment with the office girl in hopes she would relay my concerns to Dr. the nurse finally calls today and says they would call me in lonotil, I asked if it treated inflammation and she actually said yes it does, which as far as I know was a blatant lie.
I’m barely keeping up with my workload and I don’t know how I will be able to keep this up much longer without steroids while waiting on skyrizi to start showing results. My previous doctor would typically put me on steroids during the time being I f I was sick and staring a New biologic.
Im out here walking around with 10 x normal inflammation levels and constantly not making to a bathroom in time. Am I asking to much thinking I need to be on prednisone?
