I’ve been thinking about how differently two generations can remember the same person.

Sometimes parents describe their own parents as having been strict, impatient, or emotionally distant when they were younger. Meanwhile, their children remember those same people as warm, patient, relaxed, and understanding grandparents.

Of course, people change with age and experience, and being a grandparent is very different from raising your own children. Still, it can sometimes feel as though parents and grandchildren knew two slightly different versions of the same person.

Was that true in your family? Did your grandparents treat you differently from the way they had treated your parents? I hope this can start an interesting discussion.

In my opinion, it's one of the most unusual, original, and surprising films in this genre. It's interesting and touching, but made with a great deal of self-awareness and humor. It's definitely not a boring, predictable, cookie-cutter biography. What do you guys think?
