What’s that long fingery cactus?
What’s that crested one in the back? Also, is it advisable to keep this and the gymnocalycium together? If not, I’ll have to get separate terracotta pots for both of these babies.

Hi bee friends! My partner just noticed this new leaf plug in my bee hotel! I got very excited because I started planting native wildflowers this year and it’s the first year I’ve had an occupant in the bee hotel. Can you confirm if it’s a typical plug for a leafcutter mason bee? Thanks!
This is the SECOND order of the special edition pins that was canceled on me. The first order, I haven’t heard in over a month, sent an email asking for an update, got the same canned response. Ok, fine maybe the store hasn’t gotten everything together for their first pin shipment.
I order two Good Vibrations pins from the store. 2.5 weeks later, no response. Sent an email asking for an update, order gets canceled. What’s the deal?? I didn’t ANY of the pins that I have worked so hard for! What did I even do the monthly challenges for?? I’m not going to buy anything from their store until they get this together. This is seriously disappointing.
EDIT: It seems like some people got their orders and some people didn’t. I’m not normally a complainer (I put up with enough crap at work) but I’m just super bummed. Super duper bummed. They’re just silly tchotchkes, but I felt like I worked hard for them. I completed all the monthly challenges since the beginning and was so excited to show off these adorable pins.
But hey, on the bright side, maybe it taught me a lesson - don’t get too attached to material things and save your money for more important things 🤷🏻♀️
My partner and I recently completed the Camino de Santiago in Spain. When we ended in Santiago de Compostela, we were amazed by the variety of tinned seafood that was readily available in the supermarkets. There were four different types of patés, including rockfish, sea urchin, crab, and langoustine (see far right). There were tinned eels (agujas), scallops (zambiriñas), horse mackerel (jureles), anchovies (boquerones), tuna, and bonito besides the usual sardines.
My partner then went off to Lisbon and got some more tinned seafood. Great haul, can’t wait to try them!
