I’m flying to Europe next month, have Velocity Gold and booked Choice tickets. I can choose seats for the Melbourne to Doha leg but not onwards to Paris and not the return leg (I can do this on Qatar website). I’ve also been able to request an upgrade and been waitlisted for Melbourne to Doha but not the other flights. I spoke to on live chat who said I can’t choose seats as not a Virgin flight (they all have VA code numbers) -does anyone know if can request seat upgrades via Qatar? I’ve seen mixed opinions online. if waitlisted, what are the chances I’ll actually get the upgrade?

We land in Beijing Capital at 5am and leave at 1am, we have a transit hotel about 20 mins from the hotel booked with Air China. We were thinking of going to the Great Wall and Forbidden City but would then want to probably walk around Beijing by ourselves as well. All the tours I can find also seem to leave from the airport and last around 8-10 hours, we would probably want to drop our bags at the hotel and nap then head out. Does anyone know if it’s possible to either book a tour that collects from the airport hotel at approx 9am and then let’s you wander around Beijing or if it’s possible to do the sightseeing yourself/how easy it is to order a taxi to the Great Wall and then get back to the city then back to the transit hotel?

This may not be the correct subreddit but I’m getting married in Adelaide next year and tried to find a make up artist but live interstate and don’t really know anyone there. I’ve seen PrivÉ hair and make up on Instagram and they are pretty reasonably priced but can’t find much in the way of reviews for them so was wondering if anyone’s used them or knows anything about them?
