What a WONDERFUL experience!!

So, about 3 months ago I bought a 2027 Chevy Bolt from a local dealer: it was an absolutely garbage experience, but the car itself was wonderful. The problem, though, is that the charging infrastructure in South Texas is not so good... and so, reluctantly, I decided to trade it in.

I went through a few different folks, and then I tried Carvana: the amount they offered me in trade in was $3k more than anyone else, and it left me with surprisingly little negative equity... and so, yesterday, I placed the order. And it just showed up an hour ago!

The real irony is that I placed the order while I was sitting at a Chevy dealer getting the first service on the Bolt (a tire rotation and a recall). Including charging time, it took the better part of FIVE HOURS. 3 hours in, I placed the order.

But anyway, I cannot say enough how wonderful this experience was, like "painless" does not begin to describe how easy it was. This is the second car I've bought through carvana, and it certainly won't be the last.

I love this old girl...

I've had this bike for almost 10 years: I got it on sale at Target for $125. Forge was a Target brand, but the bike was actually made by Giant. The frame geometry is a little weird, but the components are pretty good and it's a fairly lightweight bike with an aluminum frame. I've put many hundreds of miles on it and just gave her a tune-up and new tires and tubes.

I just discovered this community, and I'm so glad it exists: it's proof that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a whole lot of fun 🙂

44m from South Texas, howdy y'all 🙂

So, I have only just recently been brave enough to admit to myself that I am not straight, haha. I'm not sure how to navigate this world: I think it would be awesome to meet a good, down-to-earth dude for friendship. I'm into hiking, history and reading and the outdoors, kind of a blue-collar nerd: if you're the same, I'd love to meet you!

(Incidentally, it's hard to choose a flair: I think a few of these would fit!)

Kerrville, TX

There's a place that's hidden, but on public land, that I stumbled upon about a month ago: as I walked down the hill, I saw these random seeps out of the limestone, and the first thing I saw, when I looked down, was this big boy that looked like it was in the process of core reduction. There was debitage and assorted lithics EVERYWHERE: I wish I could have stayed longer.
