I upgraded frontier fiber to 7gbs since they offered it to me cheaper than 2gbs. Today the EERO arrived and it only has Ethernet connections.

This is where the problem starts. My existing Sagecom has an optical connection. Specifically it has an unused coax connection, a lan Ethernet port, a wan ethernet port, and an optical connection using a SPC connection.

My internet goes though the SPC connection - so the EERO doesn’t help me. When I log into the web interface of the router - it states that it is Sagecomm FWR226e. However, if you google that model it does not have an optical connection. The model I have is white and all models looking up online are black. I’m guessing it’s a different model running compatible firmware - but without ripping it out of the mounting box, no clue.

Here is where we get the next problem. If I just plugged the EERO into this I’ll still be limited by the 2.5gbs of the Sagecomm. I’ll never get full speed.

I talked to technical support and before I got cut off - they seemed incredulous that I have an optical connection. We even did a video call and I showed them the box and connection.

What can I do to shortcut my call with technical support to shortcut this call and get the correct equipment shipped?
