i am non binary living in Australia. i am still in high school and recently changed my name as soon as i turned 18 and got the new birth certificate.

i even managed to get my name changed on the school system. my name is very important to me, and my deadname gives me a lot of dysphoria.

i know i am wrong for this, but i did it all behind my parents’ back. they found out about it a few days ago and got really mad at me and are threatening to kick me out and not let me go to university. i am still financially dependent on them so i know i made a big mistake. my parents are trying to make me change it back. i don’t want that to happen (i don’t know if you’re even allowed to do that).

i have no idea what to do and i do not feel safe at home anymore.
