High concept worldbuilding recs?

Give me books where the worldbuilding, relationship dynamic, anything, has a kind of elevated concept to it that sets it apart. I don't mind a generic fantasy kingdom or fae court but I'm looking for something with a little more to it.

Examples of what i mean by High Concept: Something like Soul Eater, where there's a school for warriors, and their partners who shapeshift into weapons. Or in Pacific Rim where robots that are controlled by plugging two human pilots' brains into each other and they share thoughts and feelings, and the story is emotional and leans into the power of love and humanity. It doesn't have to be a 100% unique high concept (mechs and schools have been done before) i just want something fun and interesting that is set apart.

A general rule of thumb is "if you published a book set in this universe and just changed 'jaegers' to 'mechs' would you very likely still get hit with a lawsuit?" If the answer is a confident yes then that's what I'm after.

MMC who is annoying (as an intentional character trait)

This is probably a weird ask but does anyone know any books where the MMC is a yapper. And i don't mean in a cool dark monologue way but in a "do you ever shut up" kinda way. A smartass. A little shit. Just an annoying dude. Runs his mouth constantly. Talks shit gets hit. Any of these descriptors honestly. I'm bored of broody shadow daddies i need him rage baiting people.

Any genre is fine, any spice level fine. I'm not into RH or age gap or pregnancy tho.

Age gap - what counts?

I sometimes come across things on romance io that are tagged "age gap" and i scroll down a little and see "late 20s FMC, 30s MMC." Is that really an age gap worth noting?

People who enjoy age gap, I'm curious to know what counts as a minimum difference to satisfy you? I don't enjoy age gap but I'd also not consider 5 years between fully grown adults (not young adults) an age gap at all, I'd still happily read it.
