Installed Outback Mototek Crash Bars and an Amazon USB port.

Outback Mototek Crash Bars appear to be very solid and robust but also minimalist at the same time in my opinion.

When installing the Amazon USB port, the plastic bar clamp immediately broke when tightening it (very cheap plastic)... so I had to come up with an ugly solution of zip ties to one of the mirrors. I wired it directly to the battery since the USB port has an on/off switch so I don't have to worry about it draining the battery overnight. Seems solid and fast charges my phone. We will see how long it lasts haha.

Chainmail like rattle on 2026 KLE500?

Anyone else experience a chainmail like rattle when riding their 2026 KLE500? I notice it more when when you engine break at high speeds or when you barely twist the throttle at 30mph to 70mph. It is not super loud, I can hear it with my visor up and sometimes with my visor down. Or if anyone has any idea on what that would be? I have like 700 miles on it and did two oil changes already. I also recently adjusted chain slack to about 35mm to 38mm ish.

Tire Pressure for 2026 KLE500?

I know the manual says to set front to 25psi and the rear to 33psi for a big guy like me (280lbs). Does that seem right? Does anyone have any suggestions on what tire pressure they run? I do 99% on road, haven't started off road riding yet.

Trip from Oregon to Banff Canada and Back

Took my 2025 KLR650 from 30 minutes outside of Salem Oregon to Banff Canada and back. Left Sunday and made it back on Saturday. Did about 300+ miles a day. Avoided Freeways, just taking highways through central and eastern Oregon. Then went up through Idaho into Canada. 2,121 miles round trip.

Day 1: Saw Smith Rock and the painted hills. Stayed in La Grande Oregon.

Day 2: Made our way to Sandpoint Idaho for the night.

Day 3: Made it to Radium Springs Canada in British Columbia and took it easy as we saw thunderstorms in the distant as we reached our hotel.

Day 4: Made a day trip to Glacier National Park. Saw Lake Louise, and then went to Banff National Park in Alberta. Rode the Gondola up a mountain and saw breath taking views. Also saw the Continental Divide.

Day 5: Went back done into Idaho and made our way to Colfax Washington for the night.

Day 6: Went through Pendleton Oregon and down to John Day Oregon for the night.

Day 7: Finally made it home after eating at Sno-cap in Sister's Oregon.

The KLR handled it like a champ! Only issues I ran into was a screw went missing holding down one of my side cases and a nylon lock nut went missing holding down my top case, but i was able to go to a hardware store and buy replacement parts with a bunch of lock-tite and then was good to go. No oil burning suprisingly. Definitely a trip to remember! Had a blast the entire time!

While putting on the oem heated grips on my 3rd gen klr650, I was having serious trouble putting on the right hand heated grip. I accidentally broke the plastic pin inside the Housing Assembly Control that keeps it in place on the handle bars. I used super glue to get the pin back in place and it seems to be ok, but I know it is going to bug me. I have found the part number for the entire Assembly (46091-0553) but I dont want to spend 150$ on the entire Assembly if I dont have to as I only need the back plate (with the plastic pin), but im unable to find just that part for sale. Does anyone have any suggestions, or am I just going to have to fork over 150$ ?
