The plan was to replace the Omega with the Grand Seiko, but when it came time to sell, I began to appreciate the current prices for new Aqua Terras. I also couldn’t shake the feeling that if I sold it, it would be another one that got away, (still regret parting with the Mark XVI).
The Omega had originally been purchased on a strap, with a three-link bracelet added later to make it more practical throughout the year. The grey dial never looked as good on the bracelet, however – not enough contrast. It also meant I now had two watches that felt a bit redundant in the same collection. Putting it back on a strap changed the whole character of the watch and, in the process, provided a more distinct alternative to the Grand Seiko.
