Not sure if this is just me but I felt like there were more camera pans in simple dialogue scenes and camera angles. First I noticed it when Boyd talking to Donna earlier on, panning slightly behind him to the painting on the wall, one above Donna and behind Boyd. They angled Boyd further left which made the focus for me on the paintings. Both of paintings of woods maybe some clues? Also both slightly off centre to try to get us to look at them? Wallpaper also in yellow.

Now I know the show has done this before and wants us focused on the environment like with S1ep1 with clues in plain sight. Another common one is the hotel sign which again they focused on with Boyd and Ellis in the street. They focus on it throughout the show with previous posts about it with Star magic. In this shot of it in this ep it’s shot from the angle with the yellow house behind it(Reason why they planned to set it up this way?) Across from the yellow house behind our characters is the car the MIY came in. Next shot after is Henry knocking on the yellow house, sign in background. That house to me represents many anomalies people have had like the “ghost”, Jim’s phone calls with “Thomas”,Henry MIY hallucinations that the MIY planted later when he wakes in the fake hospital the whole room is yellow. Kitchen and many set backdrop in the yellow house is mostly yellow.

Another scene with Julie and Elgin talking in the Diner, music box in background in view like it does from time to time. However I was expecting it to play a song like it usually does when it pans closer in on it in scenes however it did not. Right when Julie mentions God it changes the camera angle for Julie to a shot with it behind her. Their earlier dialogue was to me normal back and forth discussion angles for each character.

Lastly I’ll mention Jade and Kenny in the bar, could be nothing but shots of Jade right next the Ice Cold Drinks, in dialogue again about Kenny and his old job. It could be the show, setting us up for further key points about past lives, the environment or foreshadowing ahead something that will tie it back to these moments in the past. The show themes this episode about finding evidence of MIY and objects to find more information. Therefore the writers could be wanting us to be doing the same, making us pay attention to details it wants us to pick up. Maybe more so a metaphor that the MIY is all around them, setting the stage for his play, to make them tear each other apart.
