Bad financial advice from parents?
I recently lost my job and was trying to see where we could cut some costs while looking for a new one. My boomer mom was ADAMANT that if I called my credit card company and told them my situation they’d work with me to lower payments, reduce rate, etc. After calling I was given two options: do nothing or close my account. A fun added bonus Chase immediately LOWERED my credit limit as a result.
Anyone else received some old outdated news that has to be debunked here?
