Alpin,TX to Santa Elena Canyon (Big Bend National Park)

Hey all,

I’m on a road trip right now in my 2026 Premium Model Y with a reported 357mi of range at 100%.

I REALLY want to go to Santa Elena Canyon in big bend but, the reality is that this location is remote as all heck. I have always wanted to go and just wade in the rio grand while looking at the canyon. Just one of those mystic settings I’ve always wanted to experience. I can still make a reservation at the national park but, I’m unsure if it is wise.

Alpine Texas appears to be the only Tesla super charger within a 150mi radius.

Has anyone done this trip in their tesla?

Have any of you done a Road Trip from the IE out to Austin? If so, could I get some feedback?

I'm finally doing it. I'm taking that ever so elusive "FTO." I'll be gone for about 7 - 8 days. I've been wanting to do a Solo Road trip with my dog since I got him as a pup. I will be using a 2026 Tesla Model Y with about 350 miles of range. Additionally, I will be car camping a few nights.

There's no real reason for me to be in Austin except that it's just a destination but I do want to try to catch as much of the Weird Southwest as possible. My plan is to basically take Interstate 10 East and maybe whatever parallel roads to Austin. Coming back, I'm not opposed to driving up to North Texas and going through Amarillo to head to Northern New Mexico and Northern Arizona. I want to hit as much as possible though, I know it will not be realistic considering the time constraint and my dog being another constraint.

Destinations in mind:

  1. Saguaro National Park, AZ
  2. Bisbee, AZ
  3. Tombstone, AZ
  4. Gila Cliff Dwellings National Park, NM
  5. Truth or Consequences, NM
  6. Trinity Site, NM
  7. Roswell, NM (spooookyy aliens!!!!!!)
  8. White Sands National Park, NM
  9. Las Cruces, NM (obligatory stop to see extended family for an hour or so).
  10. Big Bend National Park, TX
  11. Survive West Texas (if any of you know anything cool that's worth stopping please ...)
  12. Marfa, TX (spooooky aliens)
  13. San Antonio, TX (Riverwalk and to Remember the Alamo)
  14. Austin for one or two nights
  15. Window Rock, AZ
  16. Petrified Forest, AZ
  17. Flagstaff, AZ
  18. Home .....

Now, I know this is ambitious and DO NOT EXPECT to do most if not half of what I just listed.

The goal is to try to do as much as I can. Again, I'd like some feedback from those of you who may have done this similar trek. Mostly on... what's optimal, safety, equipment, and where to park at night to car camp and what shit to bring aside from the obvious of cloths, water, dog food, blankets.

I appreciate the responses!

Those commuting to LA/OC for work - How many miles do you drive?

What’s the weekly or even annual mileage you’re putting on your vehicle?

Or if you don’t mind, how many hours of your week are you spending sitting in your car because or lead to are seemingly useless at urban planning?

In the new prop 50 maps, Cisneros will represent parts of Chino.

Pete Aguilar: (202) 225-3201
Gil Cisneros: (202) 225-5256

You could have 20 Thomas Massie hold the line on the GOP side but you will always have a number of these uniparty democrat types that will always vote the way of the uniparty.

With Flock cameras going up everywhere + revelations from Snowden, we need folks that will stand up to the spy apparatus. The East German Stasi would be envious over our spy infrastructure.
