I had a Xiaomi stick laying around and didn't intend to switch until recent CC updates which made it crazy slow. Unfortunately Xiaomi Stick despite being more responsive has a terrible remote so I paired Chromecast's remote with it.
The problem now is that it seems that IR setup can only be made on Chromecast? The volume still works, but it's on device volume not TV volume. I'd prefer to change it to TV through IR if possible. INPUT button doesn't work at all so so far I just remapped it to open Settings for me.

Is there an APK maybe that I could download for the remote setup process from original Chromecast with Google TV?

I'll cut it short. I'm in the middle of filling my application after getting an ITA in Foreign Worker Stream. One of the requirements of that stream says:

>2. You must be employed in the approved employment position as of the date of your nomination, if you are already working for the employer.

The thing is I'll be working for my employer for another 2 months until my PGWP expires and then in a few months when nomination comes I won't be actually working but just waiting for nomination (I'll be in visitor status then).

Can my application be refused because of that? Or do I just not understand those rules correctly?
