Just started collecting. I think I found my pencil.
Tombow MONO graph 0.5. I have a fleet of P200’s, a couple Staedtler 925-25’s, 4 variations of UNI Kuru Toga, and a handful of other various pencils. I got this Tombow today. It’s easily my favorite pencil so far. The grip is the perfect size, shape, and texture, the weight and balance is just right, and it just looks damn cool. I know it has its faults but for the price I’m willing to overlook them. What other pencils are must-haves? I need to feed my addiction.
A podcast about mechanical pencils.
Just a tip for you all. I happened to come across a podcast called The Rest is Science. It’s with Michael Stevens (of VSauce) and Hannah Fry. It’s a great podcast already, but a recent episode is about Michael’s love of mechanical pencils.
What do you all think of my daughter’s pencil?
I recently started collecting. My daughter noticed and asked me if I could fix her pencil. I just laughed. Then I took a closer look. It’s a functioning mechanical pencil that takes a .5 lead (the one on the right). I’d love to add it to my collection but it’s hers and she loves it. Pentel Sharp for scale.
Caught my daughter with one of my books
I found Jeff Vandermeer’s Absolution on her desk. I was very surprised, and happy, when she told me she was reading it. I’ll be digging out my copy of Borne as it should be more her speed.
Any suggestions in that vein for a teen girl?
