Why choose a Kickr Bike over a Zwift Ride if you only use Zwift?

Can someone explain why I would choose a Wahoo Kickr Bike over a Zwift Ride if my only use case is Zwift?

From my perspective, the Zwift Ride seems to offer significantly better value for money. You still get virtual shifting, steering support, and the full Zwift integration experience, while the hardware cost is much lower.

Am I missing something important here?

Riding a Tarmac SL8 in heavy rain for the first time. Any drivetrain protection tips?

Hi all,

In a couple of days I’ll be doing a 100+ km ride on my Specialized Tarmac SL8, and the current forecast looks pretty wet.

Until now I’ve only ridden the bike in near perfect weather conditions, so I’m honestly a bit worried about damaging or prematurely wearing the drivetrain.

My chain is currently treated with SILCA Super Secret drip-on wax.

Do you have any advice on how to best protect the bike and drivetrain when riding in heavy rain? Anything specific I should do before or after the ride?

Garmin Edge showing much higher elevation gain than Strava routes?

Hi all,

I usually create my routes on Strava and then transfer them to my Garmin Edge 840.

One thing I’ve noticed is that after completing the ride, my Garmin almost always reports 10–20% more elevation gain than what Strava originally estimated for the route.

Is this something others experience as well? Which source tends to be more accurate in your experience: Strava’s planned route elevation or the elevation recorded by the Garmin during the actual ride?

Kickr Run vs Kickr V6 noise levels for early morning training?

Hi all,

Does anyone here have experience with both the Wahoo Kickr Run and the Kickr V6? How do they compare in terms of noise level?

I currently use a Kickr V6 for Zwift sessions from around 3:30–5:30am. Surprisingly, my wife and kids don’t seem to be bothered by the noise at all.

I’m considering getting a Kickr Run, but I’m a bit concerned it could be significantly louder and end up disturbing their sleep.

Hi all,

I’m considering a one day return ride from Copenhagen to explore part of the Kattegattleden, and I’m curious if anyone here has done something similar.

My rough plan is:

- Copenhagen → Helsingør via the coast

Ferry to Helsingborg

- 50 to 60 km on the Kattegattleden

- Ferry back to Helsingør

- Ride back to Copenhagen via Hillerød / Farum

It would likely end up being a fairly big day, but that part doesn’t worry me too much.

A few questions:

- Is there a particularly scenic or worthwhile stretch of the Kattegattleden you’d recommend for a one day trip like this?

- Are there reliable water refill points along the route?

- Anything else I should be aware of before committing to this route?

Would love to hear from anyone who has done something similar.

Thanks!
