What challenge or activit(is)y impresses you the most?

15 years ago, marathon would impress me. 10 years ago 100km and 4000m elevation would impress me. Well, it still does - sort of. But today people does so many wild things, almost nothing impresses me the way I want to.

So, what impresses you?

Fastest Mile Ever?

One of the current challenges right now is to run your fastest mile ever.

Sure, fine if you are young or new to running. But how many people will this actually apply to?

I'm 60 and my fastest mile was MANY years ago.

Do you reply to strava comments?

Considering they don't have a thread feature, do you reply? I don't know if it's rude/nonchalant tp not reply or if it's a bit over the top TO reply. Like you know how people don't write "Thanks" in guest books when people leave a message? Yeah... that's obviously cause a guest books isn't a digital tool but still like if you get my point. If someone congratulates me should I tag them and write thank you that's all Im asking. Thanks

Literally just installed the app, but when I try to open it, my phone says "Strava keeps stopping". Help?

I don't have an account or anything yet, and everything is up to date. How can I fix this?

Premium added to wrong account

I paid for the premium bundle with Runna a week ago, have been charged and got a confirmation by email, but the premium was not added to my account. The reason is I created my Strava account through a private relay email but the premium was added to my Apple ID email. I’ve tried contacting support but have not been able to get answers from customer service. I’ve also tried restoring the purchase in the app but this didn’t work. Any one hade the same issue and managed to get it solved?

Strava has a bot problem. So many bots!

A bot posted in a club I'm in and decided to look closer at the profile and "activities". They really are taking over the Strava. Each of these names are individual profiles. Must be uploading manual GPX files for routes. This is the Star Loop in Ada County, Idaho if anyone is interested. I tried reporting them, but maxed out after 10 reports and started getting errors. Strava needs to do better.

Garmin Sync Issue

I've been a Strava user for a few years. I suck at exercising regularly, but I've finally been pretty consistent since April. At the start of August, all of the activities from Garmin stopped syncing automatically. I have no idea what would have caused this. Nothing on my end changed. Same phone. Same gear. Same home Internet. Same running locations. I've tried reconnecting the apps. Manual file uploads are the only thing working right now.

Anyone have any ideas?

Strava is cutting my run times in half

Strava has been stating my moving time is basically half of my total workout time, which has been messing with all my metrics. I have tried tracking it with both apple fitness (which shows the true workout time and correct splits) and with strava, but it always cuts my moving time down. Anyone experience this before / do I have a setting that is messing me up?

Below weekly range

Strava really needs to move to a rolling week for weekly effort. Every Monday I'm "below weekly range" and generally don't get close until the weekend.

Wrong data for mileage

I’ve run the same road/mountain route about 10 times, and Strava’s distance varies by as much as 3 miles. I tried “Correct Distance,” but that made it even worse—adding about 4 miles that definitely weren’t there.

The run starts in a canyon with poor signal, but after about 4 miles I have solid GPS for most of the mountain portion. The mountain portion starts again in an area of bad signal, but about three-quarter mile in there is good signal for most of the mountain run, but strange enough, that mountain section seems is where most of the distance error occurs of + 4 miles

What’s the best way to prevent this? Should I open Strava and let my phone acquire GPS before driving into the canyon, then start the run once I’m there? Or is Strava just unreliable in areas like this even after you have a GPS lock? Is this a common thing I mean I've been using Strava for years and never cross checked information. I just wonder if all my miles are off and now it has me running a marathon which I never ran was completely wrong mileage that I can't edit. I know I can delete the marathon time and I will but it sucks.

Strava sync with Apple Health is infuriating

I use a third party app to record my workouts. That third party app doesn’t have a Strava direct integration but syncs the workouts to Apple Health. Strava, because they are bully certainly, doesn’t allow for importing that workout. So I use HealthFit, that I had to pay for solely for that feature, to sync those workouts to Strava.

Except that now Strava syncs that workout to Apple Health! Therefore creating a duplicate! Why? That‘s not a Strava workout. There is no option to disable sending third party workouts to Apple Health.

So I disable the sync to Apple Health entirely on Strava. Except that now, if I record a workout using Strava, which I do when I need the map feature on my watch, it’s not synced to Apple Health! And there‘s no option to do that manually, or to allow for syncing native workouts only to Apple Health!

if I enable the sync again, it then creates new workouts for all my workouts that exis in Strava, and I now have hundreds of duplicates, because they don’t ask if you want to sync historical data!

That’s basic enshitification: They’re complicating their users life in favor of growth hacks by forcing third parties to build a direct integration, which means their logo is present in basically every workout app. The fix would be easy but they simply won’t do it!

Completed 100km walking challenge

Dodentocht (death march) is an annual walking march taking place in Belgium. You need to walk 100 km in under 24 hours starting from 9 pm. We did it with my wife after being inspired by my colleagues who did it last year. We tried to practice as much as possible but never went more than 47 km before the event. The time shown here is the moving time, we actually finished in almost exactly 24 hours.

How are people doing 500–600+ km in a 17-day challenge?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Strava and I'm genuinely curious about something I saw on the leaderboard.

I'm doing the 30 km challenge, and I've been walking around 15 km per session. I've been doing this for about 17 days, so seeing people with 500–600+ km absolutely blew my mind.

For example, the #1 person on my leaderboard has 601.4 km, which works out to roughly 35 km every single day for 17 days.

And just to clarify, this leaderboard is specifically for Walking & Hiking activities during August only.

I'm not trying to hate, accuse anyone of cheating, or insult anyone at all. I'm genuinely trying to understand how this works.

How does Strava calculate the challenge distance that I'm missing?

I'm new to Strava, so I'd really appreciate someone explaining how people are reaching numbers like this.

30 day free trial expiration?

Hi there everyone!
So I’m coming up to the end of the 30 day trial. I really don’t care for all the extras. I simply just want to be able to track my time, distance and pace. I guess the shape I make on the map too lol. Will I still have access after that or will I essentially be unable to use the app until I pay?

Any way to turn off Athlete Intelligence?

I hate knowing that AI computing and data storage is being wasted on providing me “insights” that add zero value.

When I look at my heart rate zones I can SEE which zones I was in, I don’t need the bot to just reiterate that. The regular math already tells me my average and peak HR. I can see that I “started at x pace and settled into y pace” - none of this is useful even a little bit.

Absolute waste of resources.
Also it’s just annoying, I don’t want it, it takes space, it’s not useful.
