“Aluminum free deodorant”

I desperately need people to understand that “aluminum free deodorant” marketing is a complete and total scam, and no, it’s not because aluminum free deodorant “doesn’t work.”

By default, every deodorant is and ALWAYS HAS BEEN aluminum free, but nowadays there’s a giant “ALL NATURAL ALUMINUM FREE” label smacked on the front of every stick and people will pay more for it because they “don’t want to get cancer” from the aluminum.

Alternatively, there’s people that complain about deodorant “not working” and that they need “deodorant with aluminum” or else they’ll stink.

ANTIPERSPIRANT contains aluminum and there is no such thing as aluminum free antiperspirant because then it would just be deodorant. Yes, they are both things that we put under our arms to battle sweat and smell, and lots of people use the terms interchangeable, but they are certainly not the same thing.

  1. Deodorant does not and never has contained aluminum. It simply masks the smell of your sweat.

  2. Antiperspirant does contain aluminum. It helps you sweat and stink less because of this aluminum blocking your sweat glands. And no, it does not cause cancer. This has long been debunked. There is no credible evidence to support the claim that it causes cancer. Also, aluminum free antiperspirant does not exist because that would just be deodorant.

  3. If you’re overpaying for “all natural aluminum free deodorant” because you think it’s unhealthy and you don’t want to get cancer you’re being scammed by Big Deodorant crunchy health marketing campaigns. Conversely, if you’re pissed that you can only find “all natural aluminum free deodorant” because it doesn’t work and you still stink, you’re simply buying the wrong product. You’re looking for antiperspirant.

I really needed to get this off my chest.

Musescore.com tried to charge my card 6 times in a row

Tried to purchase a single score from the chainsaw man movie. Heavily discounted price if signing up for the pro service free trial (~$1CAD from $12.20CAD). Considered this, but didn’t want to bother in case I forgot to cancel (said I would be charged $73.99CAD after the 7 days). Went ahead and put my info in to buy the score for $12.20…Immediately got a blitz of notifications from my card company saying they denied the charge. Went into the app to see why and it turns out MuseScore tried to charge the $12.20 SIX TIMES IN A ROW! Coincidentally, $12.20 x 6 is $73.20, basically the price of the pro subscription. Absolutely insane. Thank god my card company immediately blocked the charges. What a shitty scam company. Will never attempt to purchase from this site again.

Hi! I will soon be teaching Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. I love Shakespeare but have only taught these plays once before and am admittedly still a newbie. I have different versions (Folgers) of the texts than students will receive (Harcourt) and I’m wondering if this is a bad idea RE pages, line numbers, different wording?

I thought about buying the Harcourt versions myself but they are $80+ CAD each and I’d rather not spend so much on 2 books. Using school copies is also not an option as I hardly have enough for the students themselves + I have notes/annotations in my personal copies.

Just looking to see if anyone has experience teaching Shakespeare using a different personal copy than what students will receive.

TIA!
